A Little Help Please

Recommended Posts

I have a company that insists on bugging the hell out of us on the home telephone.

Although we are registered with the TPS and opted out from such telemarketing calls, which boils my piss because I never opted in in the first place! and after umpteen polite requests that our details are removed and they stop calling, its to no avail.

I am in the process of complaining to Ofcom but in the mean time if those that are willing to help out and ring this company a few times and "pop" them on hold each time, that would be a winner

Any serious suggestions as to deal with these telephone trolls would also be welcomed.

Many thanks.

There was a thing in the paper the other day lad in same situation changed he's phone too a thing were you get charged for ringing he's number made 300 pound or something

Put the number on loads of massage business cards and whack it in phone boxes and takeaways lol.

they are a pain in the arse , im afraid I just end up giving them some serious abuse , and tell them all calls are monitored good luck

Just leave the phone off the hook when they call you, it's not costing you.

 I have tried that one but they just ring back later, usually when your just sitting down for some tea

If we see 'Withheld' or 'Unidentified' we let the kids answer it!

They are quite happy to babble away to them then hang up!

There is another Number which you can contact (similar to TPS) which I heard about on the radio some time ago. Sorry, Don't have it on me, but I did take a note at the time.

The guy on the radio explained the situation and that TPS doesn't necesarily 'catch' them all. The alternative No. / Company could get a few more before they reach you.

Try Google ?

What I used to do at work when we got endless calls is to initially sound like I am really interested, tell them I am just off to get my credit card and pop them on hold. So the reality would be I would lean the phone against a speaker and play the most offensive music I could find, usually a crude song by Steel Panther or something and place bets on who could get them to wait the longest.

My advice is don't get angry, make it funny every time they call and you will start looking forward to the next one. Be creative with your pranks and see how daft they really are, tell them your name is Bruce Wayne and you live in Gotham, if they are selling broadband (or any non-physcal item) tell them you want five delivered immediately etc

Good luck

I had the same thing, then passed the company's details directly to TPS and the calls have stopped.

Their details were passed on yesterday to the tps and of-com. What really annoys me is this opting out. I never bloody opted in in the first place.

Thanks.
