gnasher16 30,062
Why would people be saying Khan should retire he,s 26 !.....I cant see him beating Mayweather but he,s got as good a chance as anyone else and certainly has the speed to cause him problems..... i just think they have messed about with Khans style too much over the years trying to turn him into a slick counter puncher if he stuck to what got him to the top in the first place which was unbelievable speed and high work rate i would expect him to cause Mayweather some problems until as all great fighters do they work their opponent out.
keepdiggin 9,559
Khan lost two fights already when he loses to mayweather can he be taken seriously? Genuine question I don't move in boxing circles??
fazza123 516
I'm not saying he should retire I'm just thinking that if he gets beat again then there can't be much left for him. He's looked very average in his last 2 fights and when he comes up against a big puncher I think he'll get found out again. Is he training as hard now as he was 5 years ago? He seems to be spending most of his time yanking off to strangers on web cam at the moment!
keepdiggin 9,559
I think its a piss take how he's got a shot at mayweather to be honest.

Genuine question I don't move in boxing circles?? He is a very marketable fighter simple as that..... He can lose and rebuild at 26/27 years old of course he can......with todays riches whether he will have the hunger and desire to though is another thing.

True enough, but he's not a earned a shot at Mayweather yet. I think it would of been better to give Alvarez a rematch and Let Khan fight Kell brook the fight he keeps on dodging. Just my opinion of course. Edited October 3, 2013 by keepdiggin
fazza123 516
Sky sports says it's not true, he's fighting Devon according to them?

I honestly think he just isn't made for fighting in wars like he very often does,I know he's still young but other fighters have put themselves through a lot at a young age and had very short careers (Vargas is who I'm thinking of specifically). Astanley 11,567
Its a no loose for Khan , if he loses , its what was expected , if he puts up a good show and loses ..hes a hero ,, if he wins ( and its a possibility ) ....then the worlds his lobster , but whatever happens , there are still some big fights out there for Khan .
marky b 309
I think fighting mayweather this era's best pound for pound is enough to motivate any fighter to be the best they can be. Khan would look good until mayweather figures him out witch he always seems to do IMO

When Kell Brook does something at world level Khan will probably look at that fight but at the moment its a pointless banana skin for him
