Ratreeper 441
I wish they would stop taking the photos at stupid angles to exaggerate the size, it does look a big bugger either way but it would just be nice to have a proper comparison, not held at arms length. I wonder how much of the size is dependent on genetics and how much by diet I would imagine most mutations wouldn't last too long, they couldn't fit in the same sized tunnels or hide as well for one thing. forest of dean redneck 11,669
Wonder if they farm fish there and it's been eating fish food with growth hormones in? Gambian pouched rats are about that size.
Outlaw Pete 2,224
What species of rat/rodent is it I wonder?......... Exactly. The (on line) media is constantly flowing with pictures of some non caucasian individual presenting an ever bigger " Rat ". Then, that's it. Never any further investigation. No explanation, beyond, " F**king Great Rat Killed ....! " Dark Skinned Man Holds It To Camera. I used to buy Brazilian made mouse traps, for a guy who spent much of his life field testing traps for MAFF. One day, he said to me; " Hang about! These bars would never hold a mouse! " So, I googled Brazilian mice. Check those muvva's out! They have some 'mice' that would give our rats a run for their money! If the report don't state " Rattus Norvegicus ", it might as well be a f**king beaver Oh! beavers mentioned Here too.

Frann 882
"Rat is widely eaten in Guangdong, southern China, and is used in soups as well as being stewed or braised." Wonder what it tastes like? I'd try it to be honest, Id be too curious not to be tempted

Outlaw Pete 2,224
I tried a mole once. That didn't end well I had an old mate who'd tasted just about everything and anything with blood in its veins. He said fox was pretty rank. Tasted much as it smelled. But, if you wanted to know what Really, Seriously Disgusted him? Yeppers. The 'Little Muscle Men', as he called them. Does seem moles are about the most disgusting tasting things on the planet. I wonder about shrews too though. Nothing, it seems, will eat either of them. And they both eat worms. What the f**k do worms taste like then?!
