B.P.R 2,798
Last christmas i bought my son...a 50cc petrol mini quad... upgraded a few parts on it and come christmas.... he didnt like it... bit too noisy for him (them mini quads SING).... so then bought him a small quad...from smyths... but this thing was shite .... too slow... too weak...waste of money... so that got scrapped 6months ago... and for 6months its been "dad, i want a quad for christmas'.... So was looking at a suzuki lt50... bit the laws nowaday are so strict... it would be sat in the garage most the time... So opted for EXACTLY the same as his first..mini quad... only electric!... Paid on tuesday night...after months of earache off the wee man... and wednesday morning i got... "dad... i dont want a quad anymore... i want a police motorbike" ... And this thing...goes like fook.... quicker than the petrol version for sure.... with a LOT more power... which really surprised me.... My question is... whats the laws with these... am i right in understanding he can ride this in the street with it being electric?...as you can with scooters..bikes etc?.... It has 3 speed setting so can be limited to a walking pace....

B.P.R 2,798
Your a good dad mine wouldn't dream of buying me one after I'd already had two. First one was too noisy...a bit intimidating i think.... The second was a load of shite... so put a bigger battery on...which worked...but blew the fuse... which was encased in resin so that went in the bin....

riohog 5,701
its a tricky one is this my guess is its not legal , , if he whacked into someone , or the property , ie; car there may be a insurance issue!!!.
B.P.R 2,798
Does seem to be a tricky area.... But i personally dont see the difference between this... and one of these?...
