Worms

I have a 9 1/2 week old patterdale and its got ringworm it was at vet when it was 8 week they gave me a gel that i put on back of its neck and said it will do worms and fleas?? but its just shit one out and wondering weather to get a wormer form a shop myself or off vet and if so what make and dosage do i give it?

drontal plus will sort out your internal parasites, and eggs i believe. 1 tab per 10 kg bodyweight. your pup should have been done at 10 days old and every 2 weeks thereafter until 12 weels old, then every 3 months . if its shit one out, theres more inside.

its 1.9kg in weight, the lad who i got it off said they had been wormed but obviously not so 1/4 of a drontal what about drontal puppy liquid any one used it or should i just give it a 1/4 of a tablet ?

ive used drontal liquid on pups.just as good.

if its 9/12 weeks, a quarter of a tab should be fine, liquids are generally used, especially in terrier pups, when the first couple of wormings are done, just because of the tiny mouths.

 

1 tab is 10kg, 1/4 is 2.5kg, jus give it a shave below a quarter mate to be on the safe side, in two weeks you can give it the full quarter i'd have thought.

phone the vet and ask advice as its only been done 1 and a half weeks ago with the gel and as its only 9 1/2 weeks old i would er on the side of caution.

Or use panacur in a small syringe. You do it over three days,at about .5ml per kilo. £20 per 100ml bottle or sachets.

gave him 1/4 drontal plus earlier today about 6pm and my god its just shit roughly about 8 adult worms! thanks for the advice. should i do it again in 2 weeks??
