Self Defence ?

Recommended Posts

Have just returned home, after attempting to walk one of my terriers, and my 7 month old beddyxwhippet. My two young daughters were walking in front with the two dogs on leads, with me and the wife 5 yards behind. We were on one side of the street, and on the other i noticed 2 teenagers with a large staff, walking in the opposite direction. The pup began barking and whimpering at the staff.Next thing the staff runs across the road towards the dogs, and then fires straight into the pup.The terrier bitch then got hold of the staff, and it let go of the pup and tried to get hold of the terrier,my wife and the kids were f*****g terrified and screaming.I broke my bushing stick over the staff's back, and then kicked f**k out of its head. Now i know for sure i did some damage, but what else could i do.My immediate reaction was to find the address of the owner, and take the f*****g head off him,but the wife has begged me not to.I'm not one for getting plod involved, but feel i have no option. What should i do ? and where do i stand with regard to the damage i did to the staff ?

I keep bull breeds for over 20 years and its the like of these little shits that get us all into trouble, they make me f****n sick, what are they doing with a bull breed running loose, goes to show they have no understanding of the mentality of the breed and they just dont care, after you kicked the shit out of the dog you should have done those mindless morons too.

at the end off the day it wasnt the staffs fault it was the tossers who were supposed to be in control of it ..you did what you had to do ..to protect what was yours... but if the dibble get involved it could be the end off the staff .....its the chavs that want putting down...not the dog ....i wouldnt worry bill

My initial thoughts on this are to forget it, BUT, some years back when I ran seriously, I was out on a long run on a Winters night. Nearing the end of the run, I was going along a country lane, in was moonlight and I know the lane well, there were only about a half dozen houses before heading out into just farmland with high hedges on both sides of the lane, I'd just passed the last property, when I heard this really loud crashing in the hedge on my left, next thing an animal, snarling/growling/biting landed on my back and I was on the floor fighting for what I considered to be my life with this "beast". I remember a floodlight coming on and two women screaming at what turned out to be their Staffie, I tell you, I'd had the fright of my fecking life :icon_eek: , not surprising when you think I live in an area that is frequented by the "Beast Of Brechfa Forest" :icon_eek::laugh: .

Anyway, the women got the dog back into their car in the drive, I'd got up and knew I had a fair bite on the top of my right leg, but as it was Winter, I was wearing leggings and a few top layers, gloves and a hat etc. The dog had landed on me face down to the ground thank feck and just ripped the feck out out my clothes and some of my flesh. The women were adamant that they take me home in the car and I'll never forget seeing the dog in the car ripping up the interior trying to get back out at me, needless to say I walked it  .

I reported the incident to the police as it could have been anyone in the lane and if it happened again, well then they shouldn't have the dog. The police asked if I wanted the dog destroyed.......I didn't, on the understanding that the dog was controlled in the future and fair play, there was never a re-ocurrence and the dog died of old age.

The point of all this is to offer this advice, report it before they do, as God knows what they could say and of course this could always happen again, only next time it could be someones face ripped off............Al :drink:

Cheers snoop,i've had while (and a few ale's) to calm down and think about this.I know the dog wasn't at fault (kind of),but what would have happened had my daughters been on there own ?The wife (stop laughing) is going to pay the owners a visit later, and explain what happened.Hopefully they'll listen, apologise, and not let two twats in tracksuits be walking the dog without a lead in future.

I'm normally quite placid and laid back these days but, one thing that really gets my goat is out of control dogs in the situation you found yourself in. There's a mad woman in my street, 'Nutty Nora' we call her, her dogs run amok and I have told her they will get hurt if they go for my Meg'....She wouldn't listen so next time one came running at us I held Meg' in close and put the boot in as hard as I could to the aggressive fecking terrier and told the silly bitch that I would kill it next time.. :boxing: ..She now walks her dogs at two in the morning down the road....off the lead! More people should be banned from having dogs, especially the nutty ones!

Bill; The idiots Dog was " Dangerously out of control in a public place " (Dangerous Dogs Act).

Vet's bills?! The c***'s liable to a fine of Thousands, plus the Dog would get the bullet. He's hardly likely to come round your place with a Contstable in tow, demanding reperation, mate!

He should be f*cking gratefull as hell that he'll not be hearing from a Solicitor ~ Yours ~ informing him that he's about to be sued for just about anything he ever gets, for the rest of his worthless life, over the trauma caused to you and ye family and Your vet's fees following His Dogs unprovoked attack on Yours.

Do ye live in an urban enviroment, mate? If so, ye'll probably also find just plain walking a Dog off the lead is illegal anyway.

Guy's patently a prick and probably a piece of scum anyway. Dogs deserve better people.

you done right in my opinion mate, wife and kids are always top of the bill, happened to me a while back with a rotty cross which used to roam my estate, it was trying to get hold of my at the time 7 month old pup, to cut a long story short i had to throw the dog over a fence into secure garden, the thing just wouldnt stop no matter how hard i booted the twat.thats why ive started to carry a large walking stich with me
