onthehunt 40
One of the hobs (6 months) can't stop hissing. He does it when he's in his hutch playing with the others and when he's brought into the house but doesn't appear to be aggressive when he hisses. This one doesn't work just kept as a pet just wondering why he might be doing it. could it be frustration/not enough stimulation? any advice is great cheers Quote Link to post

Bunny Boiler 177
excitement usually makes them hiss Aye. I've only ever heard a ferret make 3 noises. Hissing, squeaking (not like a mouse, but I'm not sure how to describe it), and what I would call "chuntering". Some more experienced guys and those who have kept far more generations of ferrets may offer more. I've heard mine hiss when they found a rat, and they chunter when they are excited or know they're getting fed occasionally. Guess different ferrets make different noises? Quote Link to post

The one 8,474
Two of my jills used to do it all the time usually in the hutch and the leaped over each other at the wire so i think its frustration but when they did it going down a burrow it didn't half unsettle the rabbits and they used to fly out i cant rember digging much to these two Quote Link to post
