Dan, I'd go back to basics, retrieving needs to be fun, make it a game with a ball/squeaky toy and a small yard/alley so the dog chases but has to come back by you. Don't take it straight away but make a big fuss then take and re throw. If you don't look a pratt your not doing it right, be exciting!

Takes time with some but pays off in the long run.

Thanks sandy! He's not to bad at it but its not consistent, seems as though he gets bored of the dummy after a while! Maybe I'm asking to much of the dog and need to chill out a bit
