I'm not knocking collie x's, I've had a few and my first dog was a collie x. They are easy to train, but they pick up bad habits just as quick as good ones. Some dogs with half or more collie can easi

My first lurcher was a first cross, very easy to train and bring on.Their seems to be a thing on here about collie cross greyhounds as not a good first lurcher, can,t get my head round it?

Collie whippet grey

if your looking for a calm easy going dog either a full whippet or a whippet/greyhound or whippet x collie/grey.

What are the greyhound whippets like has anyone reading had one? I thought collie crosses were more for coursing?

saluki x mate for coursing........ I would get yourself a cur bud,........collie grey ,.....could add a bit of whip to the mix aswell.......

you want something steady and biddable, which is easy too train and of course good rabbiting dogs ......

I had a whippet/grey bitch a few years back she was a great little dog very calm and very loyal and a great dog on a rabbit but if I could have added anything to her I would have added a bit of collie just to give her some more wind.

collie x for me. but for a beginner I wouldn't recommend a half x unless you are used to collies and the work you intend to to use it for would utilise its intelligence. collie/beddie mix always seem to turn out quite even lurchers, and the terrier element takes the edge off the collie sensitivity and makes for a more difficult dog to ruin

I don't think I'll need much intelligence, just pace and turning. I've been told if the dog is too intelligent they get bored easily which I understand.

Boredom isn't a problem if you work them enough.Going off your saying i think a whippet would suit you.Good luck with your choice.
