Ive always been cautious and stayed small, paying as I go, & sometimes up front which has just bitten me on the arse, oh well. I preferred it when it was me, my brother and 1 labourer.. A shitty old car and a bag if tools... As it grows it brings more problems, and it's harder to get your money out... I'm not moaning it pays my bills and when it's good, it's worth it... Those lads started from not a lot and had a decent firm, 2 blokes made good..it's a precarious position when your at the mercy of unscrupulous b*****ds...

Its_grim_up_norf 577
Yea that's not good kev got a friend started from a scratch after leaving the Royal Marines . Doing plumbing. he started his self and at the end he had 40 guys working for him . It was British gas that f****d him over wouldn't pay them in time was due them thousands and when youv got over heeds like that I'm sure it would just f**k you up in the end it all went tits up . They've started another company under his wife's name now I don't think he'll be going as big as the last time , big company like British gas eh assholes . british gas are a disgrace mate. business like that is dog eat dog. we steal plumbing work off em allthe time, purely because of our prices. People wont bow down to them any more. Flush out machine/magna clean on a heating system for example, the machine costs 200 quid. the labour isnt too intensive, and the liquid to flush out costs about 20 quid. we usually charge 300. and people snap our hands off, when british gas try and charge them 6/700 quid as for big businesses swallowing the little ones at will, thats business unfortunately, reminds me of a quote, i cant remember who by "if you expect the world to be fair with you, because you are fair, you're fooling yourself. Thats like expecting the lion not to eat you because you didn't eat him.

Did you no get that saying from a packet of skins or the back of blue bell matches lol Shocking mate they dont even try, and for years people paid the prices. Hahaha It's possibly a packet of skins. They know people dont only roll cigarettes with the things. It sounds like it could spark a 3 hour conversation with a group of stoned people true though.

whippet 99 2,613
A friend of mine had to put his company into administration this week, because of a couple of wankers... we do a fair bit of work for them, as they are a decent building firm with a good history, 2 jobs took them after 10 years of building the firm up, they had stacks of work infront of them as well..... the main reason is a c**ts trick, just not paying and playing the law ( it helps when your a lawyer) until you strangle the company... We could have been badly hurt by this ourselves but these lads are old school and I'll be forever grateful.. Leaves a bitter taste in your mouth though, and keeps you on your toes... its all too common these days ...............a bloke who lived not far from me was a cnut and he paid the price and he would buy businesses promising them to rebuild them and invest but what he would do was drain them and rip them off through there desperation and financial status..........well he ripped the wrong one off,..........and after this fella lost his house and his family left him ,it sent him over the edge.......... on a sunday night he killed the guy on his own doorstep in front of his wife .........with a shotgun and sad thing was he then killed his self............ but the fella had it coming ,.......horrid piece of work , that stitched every one up,.....but not no more tho....... theres no friends in business , but before any major works are agreed you need contracts written up in case of non payment ........I know firms who cover there ass in these contracts by them having agreements with the client to have property for non payment as a back up plan and once all the contract is signed up ,........it may cost more but at the end of the day and this day and age , its a must ,...........big multi thousand pound jobs just aren't negotiable as everyone is out for there selfs ........even business partners as my dad found out ,.........but it was nice too get one up too then see his partner slowly die a good business after he was brought out.......very careful this day and age.....ive worked for buisnesses who knew they were going and they really sorted me out........
