The Sfs Hw98 Gets A Brilliant Write Up In The Airgun World

Recommended Posts

Ive been told RWS Super Domes shoot very nice in the Imp.

5 shots and a 6mm hole.

Ive found RWS Super Fields very good aswell as H and H FTT and the new Webley FTTs.

Tim Finley an ex champion shooter has now tried the Sandwell Field Sports HW98 and says its the finest spring rifle he as ever used.   So good he's now got one on order himself.   The word is slow

i got my imp last week beautiful rifle hard to believe its a springer its more like a pcp recoilless without a doubt the best springer ive ever had and tony is a tuning god and one hell of a nice guy,

No twang at all on a SFS tuned HW98 mate. Just silk and death rolled into one.

New to the forum. I tried to email Tony to ask what is in a stage 1-3 tune. Also asked which spring kit provides best combination power and consistency in FAC for HW97. I am in the US. I have HW 98 with a Vortex kit in it in .20 that just came back from the mod, HW 97 KT in 177 with a Vortex kit shooting 5 shots at 32 yrds into one hole measuring the size of a 22 pellet hole. Also have. HW 97KT in 22 that I would love to send someone in the States with similar skills to Tony to get a full tune. Anyone hear of a US tuner with those skills? Does Tony export to the US?

Thanks

Wonder if he'd do a tune up on a Theoben Sirocco? My old girl really needs some TLC! Not sure there's much you can do with a gas ram though.

I asked Tony about him tuning my sirocco trigger and he said there was nothing to be done, I didn't ask about a full tune as the gas ram is a sealed unit, let me know if you manage to speak with Tony

Yep tunes have gone up a bit to around £80 or £85 as demand is very high and staff there are spending all their time tuning. When you think a S1 tune will take plus of 3 to 4 hours to do then parts on top. £85 is a steel for what you get back.

Just the same as the 97. When you got the sales going it all went up. Production should bring prices down or at least keep them stable. Ask the Army mate how they get such good deals on what they buy ie guns, tanks etc The answer will be that they buy in numbers. Bulk means savings not increase.. Can you let me know which rifle will next be in the spot light mate so I can order it from sfs now and get a good price before they start selling loads more and have to put up prices.
