Blackbriar 8,569
I see that the some of the 'jobs' mentioned include litter-picking and graffiti removal - tasks usually given to community service offenders. Gives you an idea of how this Government really views the unemployed. This scheme will do absolutely nothing to reduce real unemployment. It is yet another populist policy, designed to give the appearance that the problem is being dealt with, and re-affirming Conservative doctrine that all unemployed are lazy. Once again, a small minority is used to demonise a group as a whole, while they continue to feather their own nests ! More importantly, if these 'jobs' need doing that badly, surely someone should receive a fair day's pay for doing them.......................

dare 1,103
I was doing labouring for a roofer which was alright but not consistant enough for me. I was just being used when needed but was actually fun liked the lads I worked with. Thought to apply for local funeral directors as my dads a pathologist. Only reason a career like that crossed my mind to be honest. Not as if people ever stop dying so ill always have work, which is a blessing these days. Every single funeral directors told me I'd need to drive. Had enough of sitting at home doing f**k all when not roofing, so said ill work for free. Long story short they liked that offer then ended up liking me and agreed to pay my driving lessons. Paid now on zero hour contract but always something to do if you wanna get more hours. Most weeks I do full time hours anyway and April next year ill be made full time. Sounds weird saying it because what the job is, Monday mornings I'm like everyone else...but I actually love my job. Learning as much as I can about the death industry and would like one day to start my own business. Everyone says that it seems lol. I'm not deluded and expecting to become a millionaire. Got the balls to take risks and good at saving money so ill be able to give it ago. Know someone who signs on and doesn't ever look for work. Anything you suggest he finds an excuse for. Spends every penny in the bookies and the guys only 19. Meant to be when your young you wanna impress the opposite sex aint it? He doesn't give a shit about what he looks like or anything. I don't really get angry with him n think f***ing ponce. I actually feel sorry for him his life is shit and he has accepted it and doesnt want more. Main thing that got me looking for work again after hearing sod all back countless times was my bird. She comes from good stock lol didnt know it when I meet her but parents are millionaires. She kept going on at me that they wanna meet me and was no way I'm going there and saying I do f**k all for aliving. Maybe everyone on the dole just needs abit of crumpet...lets all pay to send em to the dam?
