dare 1,103
. Woman next door asked about how much she would earn with a job they told her to apply for. She would be better of by 11quid a week. Makes you think what's the point?. Well the point for me would be for me three things 1) It's much easier to get another job when you are already in work 2) Hou have more self respect and discipline when you are committed to holding down a job instead of sleeping till 11am every day 3) However little it is you are contributing to socieity rather than taking. I can understand where your coming from. I'd be abit embarrassed to say I done f**k all. That's just how we're made to think though. There has to be some benefit from going to work. A pat on the back from society aint going to do f**k all for your life. Whole subject don't bother me anyway I'm happy with my job and its a job for life. I'm just lucky I guess as I know there is genuine people out there who do want to work.
nothernlite 18,078
A mate of mine goes out with a eastern european lass. She works nights at a factory down Grangetown , Boro. She lived in seaham when she started. She had to leave home around 6.30pm walk to train station catch a train to boro, get taxi to plant from train station start a 9pm work till 7am get taxi to train station , then train to seaham , then walk home. If no delays getting home around 9.30am all in all 15 hour shifts inc some weekends. The question is how many on here would be that committed to land a job. Her mates work in Poultry farms Chicken Factories Cleaners ect ect And they really dont mind going to work. They just know it has to be done. You got to admire their work ethic and their morals as a rule are head and shoulders above your average Brits. They more like how our Grandparents were. They appreciate everything and take nothing for granted. no like our young who the majority of them think there owed a living

Theres no doubt about it they have a good work ethic but even know thats starting to change. There not over here working for pennies, they know there rights and they want the wages to suit now. When i left school i used to leave for work at 7.30, fence all day, get home about 5 and in the rearing season i'd be straight into the field to help my Grandad. Then in for a quick dinner and out till it was dark....come in and fall asleep in the bath many a night. Why? Cause i knew no different. Work was to be done so away you went. The Eastern Europeans come over here, dont know many people so they get there head down and work knowing fine well the standard wage they are making here will be a fortune back home. My friend employs a Romanian lad, nice big lad and he works his socks off for him in the rearing season and then goes home where he is a vet....!!..
NEWKID 27,132
The whole European labour thing is difficult for employers, I don't employ Polish labour, yet I've worked alongside them and f**k they put a shift in, we have skilled fabricators who earn decent money in the yard yet a company 10 miles up the road has 2 polish lads ( a father and son) who are on half the money, now my business partner worked there running the drawing office, he's a very experienced fabricator and erector as well as a very good draughtsman now with 35 years in the business, and he has said these lads know there stuff are good fabricators, and work every hour they can... As I business owner I should be employing these lads but I don't, I've got all British lads on for me, big businesses won't think like that though it's all about money, who's the mug It's hard to stereo type people as well, not everyone who isn't working doesn't want to or a scroungers.. But.... there is a turnaround in certain parts of the country now, the buildings down here are starting to really pick up, from labourers to chippies, sparkys, brickies the lot are out and working, and the amount of enquiries coming in is growing constantly.... I personally worked away from home a lot of the years, at times I had no choice, f**k did I want to be away from my kids at all but I did it because I had too.... not saying it's for everyone, but sometimes you've got to do it.... To young lads like Ruby I bet it grips your shit to see all the eastern Europeans walking into work, but that means it is there mate, you may have to start somewhere or start something just to make a start so to speak it might not be what you want or for what you want... good luck mate
Malt 379
Spoke to quite a few tradesmen recently about Polish/Eastern Europeans taking the jobs round here, apparently they're being found out big style.. A lot of the first ones over here came to work and brought a good ethic with them but a lot of the later ones got jobs solely on the back of the impressions laid down by the early ones and turned out to be shite.. Local buildng firms were taking them on because of the myth that 'he must be a good worker, he's Polish', but they're getting bumped off the jobs left right and centre here now.. delswal 3,819
if the eastern europeans can come to a foreign country and find work what does that say for the locals who are unemployed ? To much paid out in benefits ? easier to claim rent rather than work for it ? X number of pounds claimed in benefits , is it worth while going to work to earn the difference ? without knocking all who claim for various reasons ....... we have all heard people saying foreign fcukers coming here stealing our jobs ??????? ..... wake the fcuk up those jobs were there to start with , but some are just to fcuking idle to look for em FACT , or some folk just think they to good to do work they deem beneath them ........... just my opinion .........like i said a lot of the claims are genuine .............but how many ain't ..........IDLE SCROUNGING CNUTS ....rant over
