Surely the fame thing can only mean anything to aspiring youngsters.

When I was a kid I couldn't get enough of reading about the great terrier men & lurchers men, the more I read about Lucas, buck/breay etc the more I aspired to be like them, I was even lucky enough to spend a week with Frank Buck & a week hunting with Brian Nuttal when I was still a teenager & got a good insight into what these men were about. These guys were more into producing great workers than just telling stories about digging!

When you grow up you realise most of these so called famous terrier men writing about it are no better than you or I.

If anything should be famous it's the terrier not the man. The right terrier does the real graft, the right terrier makes the sport. How many men would go in a pitch black tunnel and fight something twice the weight and size, not knowing what he's up against. I can name no man what would do it but I can name a few terriers. It's the terrier not the man.

Those fellows are self publishing. I recall reading that only about two hundred copies of the Ns Obsession book were printed. Take into account that the author pays for the publishing of each book, hardback probably being more expensive, color and glossy paper even more, the time it takes to write or type, edit, type set, format, ship individually... That's all a pain in the ass and its not making anybody alot of money. The way people are obsessed with money on here is just ridiculous. Nobody obsessed with money gets into terriers to get it. And you sure as hell don't become an author. It's laughable reading y'all's money talk. Plain laughable.

i agree paul most of the top boys want nothing to do with books and dont want to bring attention to them selves
