Navara Trouble

shell i got a 2oo1 model,had it for a few years now,and apart from the gauze filter getting a tad blocked once,never had a problem with it.........

We've had this a year now, and other than the sliding, we've never had bother with it. Just had an MOT and full service, no problems other than the odd minor thing. Can't knock it at all.

i hear ya shell!!! got a twin cab navara with a canopy myself. it has swung out on my a couple of times. my uncle has the same vehicle. he has since switched and put some BF Goodriches on it. since then he has had no trouble. im thikning about doing the same. BF Goodriches seem to be the way to go hey? apart from that. the nissan is a good vehicle, plenty of power etc. the only other thing is that its a little rough being so robust and all.. but ive also got and old Mazda Bravo, with the same setup (twin cab 4x4 with canopy). its got a 2.6lt petrol. its bloody gutless but is much more comfortable. the navara was a big step up in power. cheers and goodluck with ya nissan

heelo my navara used to slide every were even in the dry (slight heavy right foot) needed new tyres so i put cooper st discovers on they have a softer compound than bfg all terrains so they grip better still and now it only slids if i boot it round corners or flick it about hard.

 

the best thing to do is to not accelerate until pointing in a straight line. they have alot of power at the back and it forces the tyre to slip good fun when you want it slid though and if it does slip just eas off and slightly coorect the steering and it will come back fine.

if it has got an lsd check its not permently locked seen this a few times on 4x4s.

try getting a softer compound tyre, some of the 4x4 tyres are very hard compound so giving them better wear thus a high milage with them.

go for a softer compound less milage but more grip on the road. try this option first.

i got dunlop sp10's on a car once and they nearly killed me every time in the wet, i dumped them even though they cost me 90euro each, got bridgestones and never had a problem with them...... hope you get it sorted shell.
