netrigger 568
Well I had a wander out last night with the Net as the conditions were good and the time of the tide was also favourable.. So of I went and set out a 55 yard gill net with a Floating Line.. So hear I was sitting back on the shore line enjoying watching the Tide coming in fast and it was not long after the Tide was at a fair height that the Fish started to hit the net , so I was quite chuffed thinking that its "Gonna be a good night" !! How wrong was I .. ... As a pair of Seals thought that they would just help themselves to the Fish that were in the net ... Ah well that's nature for You and You have to respect it even though it can make you cry ... Anyway there was nothing that I could do to prevent what was happening and I just had to sit and wait till the tide dropped back enough so I could get to the net... which I found whilst hauling the net in had a fair amount of Fish Heads still meshed up in the net. Seals are intelligent and are extremely skilled in leaving you a few Fish minus the body's .. Anyway for My efforts I ended up with 5 Mullet should have been 8 but the Seals had stolen 3 from me as well as numerous other types of Fish ... Tight Lines .. 4 Quote Link to post
Its_grim_up_norf 577
couple of times ive been out with the spinning rod on the rocks, had nowt all day and the only bites i did have towards the end, the seals took....after some amount of swearing and a bad mood for the drive home. You get over it. Some days you dont think you'll have enough room in the car, some days are shocking, and some days mother nature puts you back in your place saving the seals some hard work, by delivering it to them Best thing about the bad sessions is ive never had two on the bounce. All the best for the next trip out Quote Link to post

Sirius 1,391
Good stuff mate I think Mullet is one of the best tasting fish about equal to Bass, as long as they are fresh from the sea - I guess the Seals think the same as me also  Quote Link to post
