anyone watch this every sunday, its films about the 1800's in rural britain ( mostly newcastle / north area ) absolutly brilliant ! the best one iv watches id where a girl of about 16 - 18 has a load of young brothers/sisters and theyr family dies so instead of going to work in the work house she makes an home in a little cave thing on the hill, the little boy goes rabbit snaring, its a good watch i think!

ABsolutly brilliant i think they are, the misses keeps saying all you need now is a pipe and slippers, i dont care though its like a snap from that period, although not an exact snap but iv seen nothing else that comes close to it. if any of you havent seen it, its on either the channel yesterday or drama , youl like it, !

Don't let them grind ye down, Foxers! :D I actually like a good period drama myself too. " Dickens of London " , with Roy Dotrice, was bloody fantastic. As was " When The Boat Comes In ". Both '76, I believe?

" Upstairs, Downstairs " anyone? And how about " A Woman of Substance "? Young Jenny Seagrove (Hump.gif)

There's been some good shit, over the years. I dare say the stuff you're watching is every bit as enjoyable too ;)

Catherine Cookson, that name takes me back a bit... Books me mum read back in the 70's, loads of 'em. They made a couple into drama's too if I remember, The Mallens was one.

As for them old period dramas, I remember To Serve Them All My Days and Flambards
