Blackbriar 8,569
My eldest sister used to watch these - Tilly Trotter and The Cinder Path spring to mind. They're OK if you don't mind wall-to-wall Robson Green.

Outlaw Pete 2,224
Don't let them grind ye down, Foxers! I actually like a good period drama myself too. " Dickens of London " , with Roy Dotrice, was bloody fantastic. As was " When The Boat Comes In ". Both '76, I believe? " Upstairs, Downstairs " anyone? And how about " A Woman of Substance "? Young Jenny Seagrove () There's been some good shit, over the years. I dare say the stuff you're watching is every bit as enjoyable too

Bosun11 537
Catherine Cookson, that name takes me back a bit... Books me mum read back in the 70's, loads of 'em. They made a couple into drama's too if I remember, The Mallens was one. As for them old period dramas, I remember To Serve Them All My Days and Flambards
