Well nearly half the voting population want to cut their nose to spite their face,that doesn't include the various small minded idiots who no doubt don't vote,and young kids who are very easily wound up.

 

Though some English people may also be bitter because of the Scottish having their own parliament,free uni and prescriptions etc

best i can gather, scotland's finances would be based on mainly oil revenue, but that is a very volatile market and is mainly owned by external companies and investors, also remember that scottish banks RBS and HBOS/Lloyds were bailed out to the tune of 65 billion pounds at the last crash, what would happen if it happened again

how much does west minister depend on oil? what would happen if it was still britan and oil runs out??? oil will play a key part, scotland does make money elsewhere though, and MORE than pays its way

Funny how you independence lot keep coming out with the phrase 'scaremongering' whenever someone comes out with a possible negative consequence of the break up of the union.. It ain't going to be oil, bagpipes, whisky and shortbread all round if the SNP do get their way.. No matter which way you look at something like this there's bound to be be pros and cons. Dismissing all possible cons as 'scaremongering' is damn right foolish IMO..

I tell you what mate, I reckon all it will take is the emergence of a strong labour leader to get the Scottish vote back from the SNP.. You lot where as pissed off with labour as the rest of us at the last election and there was no way in hell the votes were going to go to the Tories.. Jmo.

labour were getting alot of votes few years ago, i cant see them getting one thats gonna make a difference in the 12 months. time for a change

 

edit: labour have already said something like they plan same public cuts as torys in scotland
