FISHING IN WEED

NEED HELP GOT A 24 CARP FISHING HOUR FREINDLY MATCH COMING UP AND WHO IM FISHING WITH DONT NO HOW TO FISH IN VERY VERY VERY THICK WEED AND NEITHER DO I BUT HE HASANT GOT A COMPUTER LOL IM THINKING ABOUT A ZIG RIG MID WATER OR RAKING MY SWIM ANY HELP WILL BE MUCH APPRECAITED

zig rigs are ok mate.....try using a marker float set up to cast about in front of you and use it to see how thick the weed is,also to see iff you can find the odd clear patch amongst the weed,by using braided line it will give you a better feel as to the make up of the bottom..ie mud,gravel etc....p.v.a bags are usefull as well,make sure to squeeze all the air out of the bag once filled.this should get you down through the weed and prevent any snag ups with your rig ...trial and error mate,but i would definatelly use a marker float set up first to see whats in front of me...............good luck

its like brown/black long quite thick and stinks becuase the last work party i had to rake it out for 6 hours lol it wernt nice

Don't forget the margins, you will be able to pop out a hair and use braid with heavy mainline....even use a float right in the edge.....then whack 'em and hold 'em tight.... weed can be a right b*****d.....not only loosing fish but also snagging the bait on the way down.....

i would certainly pack a bag of chum mixer........

ide say rake it mate but failing that there is surface baits like crust and dog biscuits or pop up baits like fake sweet corn or pop up boilies

You could also use some dissolving foam on your hook/bait , just mask your hook point in a big lump of this and it will allow your hook/bait to sink slowly and settle on top of the weed , then the foam dissolves leaving your bait on top of the weed and not buried and tangled up in it.

from your time on the work party you should have an idea of the depth and density of the weed

method feeder .....id band a method on run braid straight through and put a pineapple or fruity pop up on weight it down to about 2 inch the put it right in the edge off the weed THATS WHERE THE BIG BOYS ARE........TRUST ME THIS WILL WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try to find clear areas mate not necesarily gravel just clear of weed areas (if there are any) if not you could try baiting your spots and letting the fish clear their own area. Bunging it all in a pva bag is definetly a good tactic but not the best because it can very often all pile into the weed not to bee seen by the carp, and it wont be found unless they are on a proper feed. Particles on top off the weed are good becuse theese may replicate the natural food found through out weed beds then all you have to do is present the bait by using a long hooklink so it sits on top of the weed,
