When my kids were younger me and my missus never allowed them to play games like that ... Far to much violence swearing and sex ... Its an 18 game for a reason ...I used to get my mates this and my ma

I'm strict on my kids as far as exposure to adult themed Films or games etc... My eldest girl is 15 in a couple of months and I've only just started letting her watch 15 rated films, no way would I

It's hard to know as a parent if your getting it right or no.. And until you are a patent you just don't know what you'd do.. I'm overprotective and maybe too strict, I expect manners, I expect my ki

All joking aside i think its great the amount of thought some of you fellas put into your fatherly responsibilities......makes me a bit jealous really as thats one area of life i completely f****d up in and you dont get a second chance sadly......so listening to some of yous who are doing things the right way and putting so much thought and effort in is like a breath of fresh air in todays society......hats off to yous.

 each to their own i reckon. However, keeping your kids away from this type of stuff does NOT make you a better parent than someone who allows their kids access to it

Just out of interest as i dont really have an opinion either way...............but if you would let your kids play 18 age games....watch 18 age films etc etc.....................would you be ok with them walking in a pub and ordering a pint ?......having sex ?.......and any other things that are restricted by age ?......surely theres a reason things have age restrictions.....no ?

As I said on page one of this thread me and missus have never let any if our four play these sort of games or watch films that are not age appropriate ... 3 of my kids are over 18 and all three of them are normal rounded youngsters ... The difference I have noticed though that they are not really interested in the getting shit faced on a weekend brigade ... They go out have a good time and have a few drinks and come home well behaved and safe ... We have never hid drink from them just educated them ... They know violence is a part off life but don't encourage it or glorify it ... I have never even spoke of my army career to them really I just don't think they need it ... Life will show them enough crap and hardship without watching it in their own house ... I really do believe that the type of games and films that kids watch today really does effect the way they grow ..........

Restrictions are a load of shite. Canny watch a porno but can already have sex and get married?? Can't legally get a tattoo but can drive a car?? C'mon who makes these rules up..... Laughable!!!!!

Well i don't have kids! to be honest i don't think you can compare a video game to real world like that, it's a game where they sit behind a screen not actually walk into the local and try and order a pint....if you educate them, bring them up properly and give advice any time they need it you shouldn't have any of the real world stuff to worry about :victory:

Maybe my attitude will change one day if i do have kids...but i was brought up being allowed access to 18+ stuff as were most of my mates and we're all a set of good well rounded lads, respectful, well spoken (ish!), polite, never been into drugs or got into any real trouble, we've been shooting, hunting, fishing since we were young all the while playing these games and having a can or two here and there...it's all in the raising, as i said yesterday it never did me any harm because IMO i was brought up well.... :victory:

Personally I had to grow up really quick as a kid... I had no choice...

So maybe I am protective of my kids and wang them to stay kids as long as possible, it's all personal choices..

IMO your time is the most important thing for kids...
