My kids won't be having it until they are ready and if they ain't ready when they're 14 they still won't be getting..
NEWKID 27,376
My eldest hasn't got it, she's nearly 15.. We caved in and let her have it, when she turned 14, with my wife monitoring her account. Within 2 weeks it was gone.. Shed had a row at school and some girls had carried it on on Facebook, f**k that she has to deal with an argument at school but not when she's sat in her bedroom.. Funnily enough we've just had a row with her this morning about Facebook, she says she's missed out in a girls party because it was organised on Facebook... I said you sit next to these girls at school, since when did normal conversation end lol... ( how ironic as I'm sat here talking to you lot) lol
keepdiggin 9,561
Not being a pervert just seeing if your one of these idiot parents that stupidly let there children go on a social net work site at 12 years old , there's guide lines there for a reason especially with children involved 14 yrs old . The bird works at a school and the trouble that side causes with children you would ent believe . Morning when kids start secondary school of course they are going to have\want facebook accounts. Children should not have to suffer because we have wiedo's in the world. A child should not have any problem using facebook aslong as they don't have lazy parents who don't inspect what they do on it.
Frann 882
This is a frightening bit of the internet. Family of missing Esme, 14, fear she had 'secret meeting' in London http://dailym.ai/1gMROso She was asked if she would 'ever consider friends with benefits?' (a euphemism for casual sex). She answered ‘Yes’. When asked by her anonymous inquisitor with whom, she answered ‘A few guys, inbox [message] me who you are.’ She then added: ‘Well I go for older guys, sooo . . . ’

walshie 2,804
I can see both sides of the argument, and if the parent feels something is ok, then fair enough and that's their opinion. I'd never dream of telling someone else how to bring up their kids. In this house it has always been "my house, my rules." I've tried to give my boy whatever he has wanted growing up, but if we have considered something he wanted was innapropriate, the answer has just been "no". It's not easy saying no, but we've said it for a reason and I certainly don't think he hated us for it. Probably the opposite in that the realises we have considered the ins and outs and not just automatically said "yes" for a quiet life. I personally don't agree with 18 rated stuff for kids, partly because of the dangers and partly because it's just not appropriate. There's plenty of time in life for all the seedier stuff, so why not grow up as a kid and enjoy kid's stuff for as long as you can?
