When my kids were younger me and my missus never allowed them to play games like that ... Far to much violence swearing and sex ... Its an 18 game for a reason ...I used to get my mates this and my ma

I'm strict on my kids as far as exposure to adult themed Films or games etc... My eldest girl is 15 in a couple of months and I've only just started letting her watch 15 rated films, no way would I

It's hard to know as a parent if your getting it right or no.. And until you are a patent you just don't know what you'd do.. I'm overprotective and maybe too strict, I expect manners, I expect my ki

Amazing how a computer games can drum up heated debates. Whether you think its ok to let your 12/13 year old play on 18 plus games is up too you as a parent and nobody else. Maybe its a 'my home my rules' scenario but ffs just think back to when you were 12/13 and what you got up to and what you spoke about with your mates.....a hell off alot worse than some graphics on a computer screen.

I dont buy this kids going of the rails, shooting, stabbing and beating folk up because they have played a game.......if your a wee c**t your just a wee c**t!!!

I like to wind up the lads on here and F/B who choose to play these consoles......but realistically i'd love to have the newest console out there........with all these live links and headsets you can have some real good banter in a night. When moneys not a problem( if ever hopefully) i'll treat myself to the newest one, link up to the sheep shagger in Tenby and blow his f*****g head off in Call Of Duty........ :toast:

Don't know about mate but I weren't talking about smoking crack, taking methamphetamine, heroin, bank heists, banging whores, shooting folk and robbing cars with my mates when I was 12/13..:laugh: Its all down to opinion, but what I would say to anyone considering letting their kid play on any 18+ game is you should at least review it fully yourself before you make a judgement and hand it over, and don't allow yourself to be pressured into just handing it over to your kids because of other parents ignorance on the matter..

Ps. You'll have to get Battlefield if you want to blow my head off Lab.. I don't do COD, it's full of gobby kids who are locked in their bedroom unsupervised hurling abuse down the mic! I'd just mute them but the little b*****ds have got lightning quick reflexes and its pointless playing them! :icon_redface: Battlefield is more grown up, you have objectives and have to work as a team.. Plus I can use a f***ing great tank to take your head off in that too! :D

I'll be on the PS4 in two months or so mate, don't say you're getting one of those xbone 180's? :(

Xbox is shit unless you want to use it as a dedicated CoD/Halo machine anyway, in God of War and Uncharted series's and The Last of Us, you have missed out on some of the best games ever made! :tongue2:

Just out of interest mate whats his job got to with things?
Aye, can't see the relevance myself.. Some of the worst parents I know are the well off ones who spoil their kids and just chuck them whatever they want in the same way you throw a dog a bone to keep them quiet and out of their hair.. Being a responsible parent has got f**k all to do with what job or social status you might have..

johhny reply was an insult to me,..............

lets look at it this way,.................grown men who play on there x box all day ,............need too look at them selfs before judgeing others....?......

I don't want any arguments ..................but that was personal in sult to me .........

i was just getting as personal with johny as he was too me........? ......i think that was fair......

i aint getting slated by some one ,........who don't agree with me?..........any especially don't know me.........? im throwing my toys out the pram now too many perfect parents out there ......... i bet if there was a survey on how many parents let there kids watch / play videos over there age , you would be shocked.........truth is every one on the internet is perfect when it comes too opionions ,..........but in reality they not so perfect...........

do this thread a favour ,.either lock it or eat it or ........

I insulted you?

You made a statement saying that you let your 12 year old watch 18 rated films and then try to character assassinate me lol. Being a good parent as nothing to do with what you do for a living, my kids get plenty of stimulation as anybody who knows me will testify too.

I share John's views on this.....if it isn't age appropriate my lot ain't getting to watch/read/use it/take part/drink it....

I have 5 kids....ages ranging from and including 21, 19, 15, 3 and 12 months...

When Rebekah was 14,15,16 etc and going to her friend's houses for birthday parties/DVD nights/Xmas parties and what not it was a f***ing nightmare...she wasn't allowed to drink alcohol...point blank no way...but out of the 6/8 close mates she had all of their parents bought them drink for these parties and bought them drink to take to these parties and were all aiding and abetting pished kids every weekend....picking them up from folks houses covered in spew and what not....that shit wasn't an option for Rebekah and all her mates and parents knew this....I even had one witless c**t phone me one Saturday night to ask why Rebekah wasn't allowed to drink and would it be okay if she had a bottle of cider....well she ain't allowed to drink because I said so and no it ain't okay if she has a bottle of cider....what's more "as far as I am concerned you - because of the fact my 15-year-old daughter is in your house - are directly responsible for my daughter's welfare and if you can't deal with that I will come and pick her up now...."

Boys were and are the same....and I have never had any complaints...all decent human beings and good people....

Tell you what though this way of thinking is in the minority. I have no doubt about it. Vast majority of parents have absolved themselves of all and any responsibility for their kids, have failed to teach them basic manners and as far as respect goes...well respect has been cast to the wind as far as I am concerned.....

I think theres a flip side to that........obviously its worked for you and thats great but you could always get a child whos a bit rebellious and go the other way. I dont have kids but im a firm believer in the 'have a few tins with mates' in the house at 15/16...rather that than have them in some local park wi a bottle of vodka getting hammered. I'd be surprised if they never had a cheeky drink anyway.... :D
