Total Embarrassment

Recommended Posts

No dog is given at least an hour a day free running a day be it down the beach, in the woods or in open fields as they are all no more than 15 mins drive from mine and then he has the run of the garden for the rest of the day. Strange thing is on one permission we sometimes (prob once a week) come across some deer and he goes wild for these

Was offered the opportunity to have a few hours out with a local hunter on his permission tonight and jumped at the offer. It was the first night out on the lamp for the dog in some 4 maybe 5 months and it couldn't have been any worse. He ran half heartedly on each of the 5 runs he had and on 2 he was shoulder to shoulder with the rabbit and didn't attempt to strike. He also trotted passed 2 sitters and didn't even know they were there!! Felt like a right tool and was glad the moon made an appearance so we had an excuse to go home. Don't think I'll be getting another invite off him in a hurry:-( time to get practicing I think

Thats why I usuually go out on my own :tongue2::laugh:

Cheers, D.

Well that's a relief I thought it was just mine lol....

Was out last night with my normal partner, slip for slip and both dogs were shit lol...

Cloud over the moon, wind in the face and rabbits out as well haha...

My bitch had her season not long back and that was her first night out of the season, back our tomorrow night, I'm not concerned that's the way it goes, she tried hard but isn't fit enough yet... She'll be ok once she's back in the swing of it...

Don't worry too much mate, just get your dog out and it'll click..

I'm with you there. My bitch is alright but they all have nights when they act the c**t. Went out night before last and for some reason she was in one. No explanation for it.

When we come to a gate lamping, she waits for me to get over and then she jumps. It's just how we do it. No need for commands. The other night everytime I dropped her lead for me to get over she jumped over before me and f****d off hunting up! I was fuming.

She was slow on her return. Pulled like a train.

Just generally was a pain in the arse to be out with.

Luckily I was with a good mate but if I was with a lad off here for the first time I would of felt a right fool. Even worse if I had said the dog is a world beater, well mannered etc etc.

Always best to not big up a dog I think, even if it is a good dog.

Say it's ok. Mediocre. Then if it does perform you are laughing.
