What's Up With My Teal!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Finally got out last night for the first time this season, I got 3 teal but I came to breast them today and two were fine, but the third........ As soon as i started to pluck the breast I could see little white things about 5-6mm long like grains of rice, I cut the skin and in to the breast and they were right through the meat? Looked like maggots but weren't moving or anything and I only shot the thing at around 8-8:30 last night? It's in the bin now but what was it? Eggs of some sort? I was gonna take a pic but seen as I can't post them anyway I thought sod it lol

Cheers ant

Yeah looked very similar to a rabbits liver full of fluke but was in all the meat?

dog picked a rabbit up couple years ago that had a lump on its cheek, cut it open to find a almost clear liquid sack with as you say what looked like grains of rice worms of some type but cant remember the name, put me off eating it that's for sure :D cheers

I found this in a widgeon a few years ago. Seen an article in a ducks unlimited magazine explaining what it was afterwards but i cant remember what it was!! I wouldn't eat it anyway.

I'm sure there was something in the BASC magazine last year about it too. Some sort of disease and it wasn't recommended to eat it!!!!
