IanB 0
Is there much difference between the hungarian optics's and the german built one's....light gathering, lenses, etc or are they identical. Quote Link to post
SNAP SHOT 194
build quality and light gathering abilty go to the german optic ian, but if it's a matter of price check outthe zeiss conquest, excellent for the money. and not much differance between the two. Quote Link to post
Guest baldie
There,s no difference between the two whatsoever, apart from one is built in hungary, and says hungaria on it, and the other is german and says germany, oh, and a couple of hundred quid. They are built from exactly the same parts, lenses etc, but cheaper labour. Go with the hungarian one every time. Quote Link to post
SNAP SHOT 194
Told the hungarian one was using cheaper lenses by a gun dealer, maybe to get me to purchase the expensive one, told by a few the same. Quote Link to post
Guest baldie
No mate, he was bullshitting you, the components are absolutely identical, its just that the sale of the german one, is virtually none existant now, and obviously there is more profit for the dealer. I would use another buddy, he,s pulling your chain. Quote Link to post

Guest Scuba1
As most of the time , if not to say always, Baldie is right again. Both optics are made by the Carl Zeiss AG in Carl Zeiss Sports Optics GmbH Carl Zeiss Gruppe Gloelstraße 3 - 5 35576 Wetzlar ATB Michael Quote Link to post
dead ive 0
Look at it like this .The Brand name must be protected at all times and can you imagine S & B using inferior glass on their product and still giving the same guarantee's I have the hungarian model .....It's identical and it's S & B's way of introducing the poor man to their excellant products Quote Link to post
Alex_W 0
Snap Shot, I was looking at a Zeiss Conquest, from DNR Sports over the Pond. They look like good value for money - my only queries were re warranties and whether Zeiss use lower quality parts in the Conquest scopes. I assume you've got one of the Conquests? Quote Link to post
