Dont think thats correct mate... all 3 of mine were castrated and smaller than your average hob....

They work just as well as any other ferret...   I worked 3 castrated hobs for 3 seasons and they were spot on ....

I thought the same at first mate but his teeth are pretty discoloured and his 2 fangs are both snapped.   I think it's hard to guess an age though?   Feck knows. I'm gonna keep him though

If it belongs to someone Gaz, its only right to give him back  I lost a ferret once (some c**t opened the hutch as a prank) and it was heartbreaking would have done anything to get him back but never saw him again. You don't know the situation the ferret came from so I suggest taking him in to vets as a lost ferret and if he isn't chipped, you can keep him. you could try RSPCA but you may have to go through the adoption process if he isn't chipped and you wanted to keep him :D

True but when out of season there should be a small visible sack if you look closely. My hobs are 4 and 5 months old and they have tiny but visible ball sacks. My other hobs (still in season) have small ball sacks during the winter.

Thats surely a specialized kink checking out ferrets ball bags :hmm: The only one im interested in is scratching mine

Took this hob to a mate today who's got a microchip scanner. He is a manager at a dogs home so he's got one there.

The hob is castrated as originally thought and he is chipped. I rang the number and a girl answered. She explained that her boyfriend worked the ferrets but he had been sent down to do some porridge so she let the ferrets go free... a few months back!

And the best bit...

She let them go 25 miles away from where he was found!

There were 3 apparently. I might rename him lucky

I collared him up today and he was fine with it. I gave him a defrosted rabbit and gave it a shake and he was straight on it ragging it and trying to kill it. So I will try him out this week and see how he gets on...

He's..sooo...long..:laugh: great that you've gained a nice hobblet mate  Some ferrets are survivors lucky he didn't come to any harm upon being abandoned. unscrupulous b***h, I don't agree with letting domestic animals loose like that. but he's found a nice home now :boogy:

He works

Slow at first. Don't think he's been worked before or if he has he was rusty.

Didn't want to go at first and then he wasn't going very deep.

But once he was into the swing of things there was no stopping him...

He bolted 1 and missed 1 which my mates Jill went in after and pushed out...

Then he bolted 1 and came out and my mates Jill went in and proved it was empty.

Then he was gone for a good while so we had a scan and located him about 2 foot down. A short dig later and there he was...
