It is a standard response to anyone who comes on here saying "Free vermin control". Don't take it personally.

 

99% of people on here ALSO want permissions, anyone on here lucky enough to have one, will not be giving it away free.

 

To be fair, you should go look on the "wanted" section of the hunting bit, some of the responses are WAYYYYYYYY worse than the tame stuff here.

 

The standard respons is also always....go talk to the land owners, everyone here is a hunter, we don't own land, if we did, we'd be out shooting it right now.

I had a negative response when I added on wanted section a while back which boiled my **** to be honest due to me already doing everything possible to secure a permission, but I now see why after all work I put in over last few years.

 

I've since secured 4 permissions locally, do your homework and get out there....

 

Start by getting some insurance and putting some letters together or flyers, then let the fun begin by knocking on doors, be prepared for plenty of rejection I've prob had success rate of 1/30 with full weekends given up trying to get something.

1.Get yourself out finding out who owns the farms and the land around you. Dress smartly and look responsible and polite and just ask. You'll be more respectfully treated than if you wash up looking like an unwashed Gunga din!

 

2. Be prepared to visit pubs where they drink and buy a few pints.

I shoot over land that was my father's permission. I've got thousands of acres of other shooting permission here just by socialising with the farmers who own it.
