bird 9,871
ive used just norm ear drops, seem to kill the mites, they seem more norm colour his ears, not red inside. Would i have to do anything else to the dog .? Are the mites (dust mites) ? as ive cleaned the kennel out, give it a good clean+soak with (jeyes fluid) and put new S/paper inside, it was my pup Buck the gsdx grey that had the prob, i think sombody told me gsds can get few ear probs? maybe this was just mites like any dog can get .? Thornit Powder treats these symptoms : Does your dog constantly scratch or rub his ears? One of the most common causes is ear mites that can cause canker. SIGNS Brownish wax inside the ears. This is made by the mite inside the ear canal. The wax can either be dry, or may weep slightly. The ears tend to be smelly. The other type is much more offensive, and stinks of gangrene, while discharging globs of pus. If your dog is suffering from sore, smelly, or itchy ears There are no antibiotics in THORNIT, so it can be used in perfect safety. Application. A pinch of powder is applied using the end of a small spoon. Lightly dust around the inner ear avoiding the ear hole. Gently massage it in with your fingers from the outside. Relief can often come with the first dose, but the treatment should continue for 1-5 days. Helps with other skin problems And it`s only £5. One thing that i would do is look at your Kennel Bio Security ,Jeye`s fluid is no good in the aid of keeping down the risk of a lot of disease and viral infections. While bleach,Jeye`s fluid and simply hosing down is probably the norm,it is no good in this day and age,you have got to move with the times...Hospitals my example.. Gud luck and stick in... parry88 3
My 18month old springer bitch had the same problem a few months ago, took her to the vets and they said to use "bayer advocate". Vets was expensive so I asked for a prescription and got them online, like I do with any medication for the dogs. Works out much cheaper!! And got the job done. Hope this helps Quote Link to post
