perthshire keeper 1,239
knot to knot in any direction, then that times two is youre "full" mesh size knot to knot is your " knot "size so if your knot to knot is 2 1/8th inch then its 4 1/4 inch full mesh Quote Link to post

lllluke1 329
If you mean is mesh is 3.75" then your net is 34.5 yards long. Working length is 17 yards with 100% bag. TC will comment soon to confirm. Out of curiosity, why such a small mesh? Edited September 16, 2013 by lllluke1 Quote Link to post
Tiercel 6,986
How do i messure a nets square to find out what inch it is Do i pull out the diamond to make a square the messure bottom left to bottom right? Or keep it as a diamond and messure top to bottom? The best way of finding out what your mesh size is keep it as a diamond and measure from the top knot to the bottom knot. All net sizes will be nominal in feet and inches as all nets are made in metric sizes these days. What we call 4" is actually 100mm mesh which equates to a 3 15/16ths inch mesh in old imperial measurements. Okay so my "knot" is 1.6 So my mesh is 3.6 And my net is 331 meshes long So 331 x 3 6/8 Is what? First off 6/8ths is actually 3/4 of an inch. Measure the net in mm I think you will find it is 100mm on the diamond knot to knot. If that is the case? With 331 meshes you will have 18 and a bit yards of rigged netting set by half the stretched length. The formula to work out the lenth of the net stretched is quite easy to remember. Mesh size x number of meshes = total stretched length of net. Divide that by 2 or (half it same thing) and you have the size of the rigged net. TC Hope that helps? Quote Link to post
