Interesting Morning With Horses & Foxes

Woke up early this morning so thought I’d have a few hours on each of my permissions, I arrived at first permission which is a farm and stables, and it’s a new permission so I’m still becoming familiar with land.

 

Anyway I started off by climbing into first field and stalking up side of the hedge, and then I noticed about 7 horses which was strange the owner said they only have one horse and would be in stable through night + early mornings so they must rent their land out when we have races on in our town, anyway I continued but the horses were on edge and kept charging off so I moved on into next field, and to be honest I was shitting my pants and didn’t fancy diving into a ditch or over a barbwire fence when I got charged at by them lol.

 

I noticed two rabbits at side of edge in next field so I dropped to prone and then crawled closer they were approx. 50 yards but I wanted to get within 35 yards…then I watched 3 bolt off approx 10 yards in front of me, I’d more or less crawled on top of them scaring them off, what a retard… I was that focused on the two I spotted I missed the others under my nose. (Lesson learnt).

 

I then decided to move on to next permission without any luck but I’ve found where all the bunnies are for next time.

 

I then arrived at my next permission and the rain was coming down hard, so I thought I’d go through the woods under cover to a tree where a usually see loads of bunnies, I stalked all way to the rabbit tree and nothing was there which was very strange…. Then I spotted my friend the bloody fox with its head in one of rabbit holes under tree so decided to go home for a sausage sarny and call it a day.

Unlucky mate, but it's always good to get some fresh air and learn, next time u can prepare and smash them

Been having a problem with a few foxes on one of my permissions, might have to have a word with the shooting party and see what can be done. Looks a nice of land mate

Last few visits I've crossed paths with them mate pain in the backside.

 

I dropped on with land, only up road too :-)
