sprocker dog 7
hi, any you guys experiencing the newer Winchester x 22 subsonic rounds going straight through rabbits even at 60-70 yd range. also had the odd one now and then make a loud crack like a hyper velocity round. i'm using 1000 rounds a month so I don't think its a dodgy batch. be interested to hear of any others noticing a difference. hutchey 147
Stay clear of cci's! Tried them and like Paulus, I had the same thing. Re the new packaging wins, they do seem a little punchier. Thought it was maybe the odd one but looks like something is different given the results as you describe. Quote Link to post
The Seeker 3,048
Use Eley subs and they seem to be the best in my opinion. Sorry cant comment on Winchester 2 Quote Link to post

I understand the new packaging coincides with a move to a new production plant as well, so who knows, but I would have thought the recipe should be the same! Quote Link to post
sprocker dog 7
thanks for feedback guys. my rifle is spot on with the Winchesters and it don't like anything else so i'll stick with them. good backstop puts pay to any that are not expanding, also shot a few doubles when one rabbit sat in front of another so two for the price of one cant be moaned about. Deker 3,478
Has anyone tried magtech rounds, having good results with those at the min I used Magtech 40g HP Subs for years, tried them when they were dirt cheap and got on really well with them. I have stopped using them now simply because the price has got silly, they went from being about the cheapest you can buy to now being near the top of the price table. Winchester now or RWS as second. Quote Link to post
iana 25
Have had a couple of Winchester that have gone crack and also a couple that never went off then after a delay of a second or 2 they've gone off.!!! I'm on SK now by Laupa they are absolutely spot on and more accurate than the winchesters in my rifle anyway. They are just a bit difficult to get hold of round my area Quote Link to post
Yokel Matt 918
I'd be more suprised if they didn't go straight through - I can't think of a single occasion where a .22 LR slug stayed in the cavity even with long range shots. Don't get me started on CCI snap, crackle & pops... Quote Link to post
Brickhill 28
Eley or RWS subs for me more accurate in my gun than Winchesters. Quote Link to post
