Hares Breaking Their Legs

Recommended Posts

Was out today for a run with my bitch and ran a hare. The hare got up and was running hard and I didn't expect my bitch to make a catch as she's by no means a hare dog she turned him once and was going well until the bitch turned him a second time and when she made the ground up agin I could see that the hare wasn't looking well for making an escape and the bitch lifted him. When I got the hare of the bitch there was a bone sticking out just above where the foot joins the back leg. Has any one else come across this? It must of broke it when it turned the second time because he slowed down abit and wasn't running as hard as he was before this.

Think you might find this is rather common now, especially in England :whistling:
