Stewie hasn't spat the dummy for about a week & a half....... amazing what not drinking can achieve............ Tell me about it!! Cheers, D. truthfully d -Well today my son was born but unfortunately we have just said our last goodbyes, a beautiful perfect looking lad that was just to good for this world so he was given one, the tiniest little defect imaginable, a tiny little flap of skin that didn't flap. 9 months of excitement, at 9.36 he was delivered through an emergency C section. 25 minutes I sat there watching them trying to resuscitate my son while all I could do was sit helpless, from there he was taken to nico and put in an incubator and just filled with tubes. Several hours later they came back and told us he had a rare heart disease called Pulmonary atresia. Something that only occurs for every 4-6 in 100,000 and meant that even though he was alive it was the machine doing it, a baby of hours old dosed up on morphine, fed air, an acid count the machine couldn't even measured and he was still purple but something in there told him to hold on so they came to us and said he is being flown to bristol for an emergency major heart operation but could possibly not make it. In an hour, differences or not both of our families tried as hard as possible to get to meet him. We had him baptised as jack david cotton but still knew he had very little chance. Everyone ready to go home and jack ready to leave til a nurse runs down the hall and calls us back. 2 consultants sat us both told us straight that he wouldn't be able to make bristol so we decided to have our last goodbyes, sat in a room with friends and family, everyone in tears as an incubator is rollied in with 7 machines feeding him different drugs without sensors, air and heat but he was still continueing to slip away so they removed all his bits and passed him to his mother for a cuddle, allowed me to have a little cuddle and then gave him back only to watch his chest slowly stop beating and him peacefully slip into his first and final real sleep after a kiss goodbye from everyone. Unfortunately not everyone did get to meet him and we do apologise but even with all the fight in him and no matter what the doctors did and they did brilliant, he just didn't manage to survive past 8 hours. R.I.P Jack David Cotton, 30/4/13 - like a true cotton he came in and left fighting. You'll always be remembered my porchelain son Thats the worse part but most of it aint much better apart from the fact im now drug free after nearly 5 years and down from 23 srone to 15 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
