Driving home tonight in a transit van. Just pulled off the M5, J23, and am now coming down Puriton hill towards Silver fish. Going slowish because there's lots of traffic. My mate , who is in the passenger seat, says 'What's her problem?', woman passenger of the car in front is shaking the left shoulder of the driver while gesturing towards the large lay-by which is to our let. Then my mate goes 'FUGIN' ELL!, LOOKADEM 2 [BANNED TEXT] FUGIN' GUNS!!', he's from Essex. I look over to the lay-by and there are two blokes there. I know one of them had a DPM Camo jacket on but i was more trying to see what guns they had while driving at the same time. Looked like thumb hole PCP's. Looked like they were just stood there showing the guns to each other, but you got the feeling they wanted people to see the guns as well. I had a FFS moment, i mean, if that was me i would have had the gunb in a slip and then i would have tried to carry it so it didn't look like a gun. What a pair of prize c-cks, if I were you mate I would have a word with the one you know, and tell him how close he came to having a H&K pointed at him, people like that just dont have any brains, and the shooting world is better off without them, it matters not one jot to the public if they had air rifles or AK47s, a gun is a gun to them, I just hope you can point out to him what a stupid thing he did, but he is probably too dumb to listen.

You can bet somebody phoned the cop i wouldn't be surprised if they got a tug . if there stupid enough to be showing off there guns at the side of the road to every passing motorist they deserve to loss them

Probably comitted offences as well as had unslipped guns in public - would need lawful excuse, I doubt showing to your mate would count. I they were parked next to their shoot then they might get away with it with an advisement to put them straight away. Either way, is stupid. If you're going to a shoot and leaving the slip in the car by the side of the road, then walk straight on no messing, compare guns on the shoot not the road. Same with coming off. Personally, I think its safer to take the slip unless your parking in a private car park such as a farmyard or car park owned by eg golf course.

I didn't know them, just noticed his DPM coat. The layby is very long with a large grassed area between it and the road. I just got the impression that they wanted people to see them , and they thought they looked cool as f£%k.

I wonder if they will still be smiling when their face is unceremoniously pressed into the Tarmac by an armed response copper having just being tazered... as well they should. Getting dressed up like Mossad and running round with a toy gun may make them feel tough but is pretty sad really... Fools.
