mad al 146
PCP are the bizz, if that is what you want . BUT, a really smooth springer takes you back to when rifles where an extension of you, you got the "feel" of them , I've an Airwolf, and it does not miss, nowt to do with me at the end of the day. That is why I can relate to what SS is saying....................Al Quote Link to post
donnyc 1,203
i personaly would reconsider pcp. AIR ARMS S410 ive shot springers for 20yrs and recently brought a pcp WOW i will never go back. i belong to a gun club nr me and 3 guys that shot springers tried mine and now they have pcp.... my advice think hard and long about your desision... PCP = Pain in the arse to me mate, have had about 5 or 6, best one was an MFR, got fed up having to dick around with the bottle all the time, I want a gun that I can get out, shoot and put away again. Apart from the thing that PCP felt a bit gay and lifeless ................. what are you on when im and many others are shooting and want an accurate shot why would you want that horrible CLUNK from a springer i want no recoil and an accurate shot pcp all the way and you cant get a multi-shot in a springer ?yes you can Quote Link to post
oxo 450
Just like to apologise to all the TX fans, you were right, its a fantastic gun . Put a lot of time in with it over the last few days and its a cracker, the cocking, loading takes a bit getting used to at first but it is deadly accurate and gives just a nudge in the shoulder. Shot it back to back with the HW80 and it beats it in every department (i love the HW80). I had a S400 a few years ago and got rid of it for the same reasons as SS, pain in the arse charging and gay !! Buy one you will not regret it. Strong Stuff 2,171
Oh how you'll all laugh when I post a pic of my new toy ................... Coming soon, "Talking Shit" by Strong Stuff Is it the BSA Ultra multi off Airgun Forum? (not that i am a creepy stalker, honest!!! ) Very gay gun   Most gay indeed! Have just been taking it apart (as you do) and cleaning it etc, it was covered in cammo tape. Not sure if bargain is the right word, but am happy enough with it: BSA Ultra Multishot .22 Bowkett blueprinted and larger air cylinder fitted (50 - 60 shots per charge) Carbon Fibre Bowkett silencer Bowkett work done end of July, receipts provided BSA ESSENTIAL 6 - 24X50 OA SCOPE (2 weeks old) BSA SYSTEM 2-LF (TORCH AND LASER) (Very soon to be for sale, as new in box) Bipod (on a tiny gun like the Ultra?! ) (Also very soon to be for sale) The stock on the gun has got a few little scratches etc, and a hole where the stud for bipod was, so think it might need a re finish I paid him £400, (he'd been very patient today, have been trying to get out to buy it all day!), so if I can get maybe £30 ish for the Laser and £30 for the bipod (depending on it's price new of course) then that's me down to the same price as a new Ultra multi, meaning I got the scope (£90) CF silencer (£50) spare mag (£30?) and Bowkett fettling (£125) free so am well happy with that. Photos tomorrow (today already! ) once it's had it's Strong Stuff modifications ................ (Stainless bolts that is! ) Got a 12l 300 Bar bottle, microbore hose and gauge after I bought the gun, got that at a good price too, done well today! But ................... Should I have got a Pro Sport .............. Time will tell, am sure I won't lose too much on the Ultra, sold that rusty one for £190!!! Quote Link to post
Strong Stuff 2,171
Well............... Here's the thing, bought the gun last wednesday, stripped the stock thursday, refinished it over the weekend, and sold it again on tuesday!!! Here it is though: I was out and about on Friday and saw a newer Discovery that I "need", so have to get all my money in one place again to buy it. It was a nice gun though. Will definitely be going down the springer route next time, nice and even tempered as they are pcp's just don't feel like you have achieved anything when you hit a good shot. Quote Link to post
oxo 450
Nice little guns, still gay though! I would put a photo up of the TX if i knew how Quote Link to post

johnnyboy28 1
Hi all, am in the market for a new gun, definitely not a PCP type, had a very nice MFR but it's a pain in the hoop having to keep a divers bottle too. So............. Have settled for Air Arms (made in England and all that) and can't decide between TX200HC or a Pro Sport, the Pro Sport is about a £100 more (both prices are for new, both with Walnut stock) Yes I know it's a lucky position to be in, but I've worked my balls of all "summer" to pay for a new gun. So, who's got what and what do you reckon? I think the Pro Sport has the same internals as the TX but a different cocking mechanism? Is it a 100 quids worth of difference though? I have got the AA410 now but the best spring gun i ever owned was the Pro Sport by far excellent bit of kit mate Quote Link to post
