Time certainly flies. Still the most amazing thing i have ever watched on the tv. At the time my jaw dropped watching it and it wasnt till later on did i start to think about the thousands of people who lost there lives that day. Since then i have watched hours upon hours of 9/11 stuff and it always surprises me with the stuff they show.

I still cant get my head around the people who were sitting in the towers level with the plane hitting.......i just cant imagine the feeling they had sitting by the window and watching the plane get closer and closer....the feeling of helplessness when it was imminent that death was seconds away. RIP

out of those that died, the ones you describe were probably the luckiest, if you could use that word, at least the ones in the first building were anyway. Those planes shift at a few hundred miles per hour and I'd suggest most of them wouldn't have seen it coming. Its the ones above where the planes hit that probably suffered the most. That feeling of being trapped there unable to get down..

I worked in a factory making plane seats at the time, I lost my job a month after 9/11 as an indirect result of airlines cancelling new orders for planes in the immediate aftermath when demand for air travel plummeted. Weren't ideal because me and the other half were expecting our first child. Suppose I'm lucky compared to some folk, they lost a lot more than me.. RIP.

Remember watching a documentary that showed footage of the people jumping from the buildings :icon_eek:

Showed just how desperate they must have been, I would take my chances with the flames I think.

Just been talking to a mate about that very same thing. For every one that jumped I bet another was pushed.

12 years ago today the Twin towers were destroyed in terror attacks and over 2000 innocent people were killed at work....spare a thought for them at some point today......may they all RIP.......

Shhhhhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitttttttttttttttttteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

this thread aint for that...........its simply to remember the innocents who died.........

I was in my office in Ottawa when it happened. I tried to go on line to look up a number for something and it was jammed, couldn't get on. Went into my boss's office to let him know, looked down 20 floors and there was pandemonium on the streets - cars abandoned, people making frantic calls on their mobiles. Bearing in mind, I was working a stone's throw from the Canadian Parliament buildings at the time. I remember thinking ... wtf?! Eventually we found out what happened. We had offices in New York. I remember standing there thinking ... if they do this here, we're all dead, given it was the financial district in the Capital and right beside Parliament. Couldn't get out of the office fast enough - took the stairs just to be safe. Went straight up the road to my 'local', and stood in a jammed pub amongst a bunch of other strangers who'd come in off the street, in total awe of the footage playing on the tvs. Petrified, horrified, shocked to the core. Very sad day.

This documentary is astounding and if you haven't already seen it, it's a very moving account.

God bless all the people who lost their lives that day.

As most I remember it like yesterday, I was putting the roof on Plymouth Art College when I got a call, we went down to the van and stood and listened to the news.... Without doubt the biggest event in my lifetime, unbelievable, sad beyond words, and the changing moment of out lifetimes...

I visited New York many years later when works were just beginning on ground Zero, and the size of the space left was unreal.. I stood there for a long time... I got talking to a New York couple later in the night and went onto a pub with them, they talked about it from first hand experience, the one thing the man said he could never forget was the smell...

RIP...

Yes,RIP...one of the biggest "inside jobs" of THIS century...was the catalyst for the invasion of countless countries in the name of peace. Thousands of our troops and international killed for no other reason than the quest for world domination and power by the global elite...(oil=$$$$).

According to "certain" records the highest seismic readings occurred seconds BEFORE the towers dropped....strange..?

No I'm not a conspiracy nut, just like to look at the bigger picture, most people who still think the "planes" brought the towers down need to do a little more reading ...

It's a bizarre world and those who can get away with these attrocities will unless people wake up...

Rant over...

RIP.
