beast 1,884
the last few weeks on here have seen another spate of dog thefts. we can all do our best to get our own security sorted, get neighbours to keep an eye open, be careful where we exercise our dogs and who we show them to, but there is still some risk to all of us it seems. for those people who have had dogs go missing and been lucky enough to get them back, how did you do it? were they dumped, did you get an anonymous tip off, did someone with connections give you some help, or what? i just think if you folks share your experiences it might just give some poor fecker another idea or piece of luck when their dog is nicked 1 Quote Link to post

kruby01 114
A start for all is get them chipped, yer it won't help you find them but it will get them back if they're dumped and also help you prove you are the genuine owner 1 Quote Link to post

R.A.W 1,987
Prevention is better than cure!!!!!!! Be carefull who comes to your place and don't brag your dog up too much CCTV,locks and alarms and if someone some much as lifts a flower out of your garden unleash a mass pain and fury on them. The scumbags live in a small world and they soon get the picture. If someone stole one of my dogs it would break my heart and be more than willing to inflict the same heart ache and pain on the culprit. 4 Quote Link to post
paulus 26
sites like this/Facebook etc. are having an impact on both theft and recovery. its far easier to spread the word and apply so much pressure that the dogs become to hot to handle, so to speak. Quote Link to post
bracken boy 584
Whats the age of the dogs being stolen nowdays? Quote Link to post
mackay 3,384
Quick survey, who has had a dog stolen and got it back?. Who has had a dog stolen and never seen again?. Just wondering what the success rate is and the actually likliehood of seeing your mutt again if it gets nicked. Quote Link to post
Westy76 546
I was talking to a mate the other day about making the dogs to hot to handle like that angel dog plastered everywhere, surely making them to hot puts them in the ground to save aggro? I'm not a dog thief so f**k knows how the c**ts mind work but you dont see many coming back. Quote Link to post
