Just heard that on the radio. Doesn't seem right to me, but then the jury hears more facts than we do.

I'd spend every penny i had making sure the folk with there accusations stood trail....if they are proved to be telling lies then i'd want them imprisoned for a lengthy time.

Corrie are said to be "looking forward" to writing him back in the script. He's been out for 7 months - that's a lot of money to lose apart from the worry over all of this

I hope the lying tramp who made up these stories goes to jail.

The fact he's been found not guilty doesn't necessarily mean the girl was lying. It simply means his guilt couldn't be proved beyond a reasonable doubt. The conviction rate is rape cases is extremely low, due in large part to the nature of the offence - one person's word against another, and rarely if ever any witnesses. It's an offence that nearly always comes down to who the jury believe the most - guilty men sometimes 'get off' !

However, I'm not saying that's happened here -the Law has spoken and that's an end of the matter, as far as I'm concerned.

I agree with some of the comments on news sites, he should have been tried anonymously. You just know this is going stick with some people, even though he's been found not guilty.

I should think he's so made up at the moment he can't think of anything other than being a free man. Once it's sunk in, lets hope he sues the girl and anyone else who was in on it. I'm sure this isn't an isolated case of someone trying to get some money out of a celebrity.

Not necessarily Frann. Craig Charles (also in 'Corrie') was found not guilty of rape some years ago .

This is the problem with waiting years to try and get a conviction. I heard a stat on the radio that there are 95'000 cases of rape reported in the UK last year......95'000......WOW!!! Thats f***ing mind blowing. Now i'm all for shooting a guy that forces himself on a woman and rapes them. I'm also for shooting these silly cows that make things up for whatever reason....whether it be money or worrying there husband finds out they've been a little trollop.
