Guest norseman
cant believe nobodys mentioned rory gallagher apparently Hendrix was asked how does it feel to be the greatest guitarist in the world, to which he replied you need to ask rory Gallagher that one. or words to that effect rory is amazing but I think Hendrix was being modest, not taking away from the g man of course.

Mickey Finn 3,016
Obviously the best is a hard thing to name. Jimmie Hendrix was great, but I'd like to mention few more I admire. (No particular order) Buddy Guy Eric Clapton Stevie Ray Joe Satriani Carlos Santana BB King Phil Keaggy ( You think Hell, and Detroit are tough, try Youngstown Ohio) Chuck Berry Doak Short (my friend) Jimmy Page Jeff Beck Alvin Lee Muddy waters There are plenty of other greats as well. Bosun11 537
Rake... As I said before Ste Vai, as gifted as he is, lives in a parallel universe where must think people tap their feet to his twangs and runs, the minute he flips out in the film Crossroads I knew he was a loon and don't start me on Yngwie, who's names as bad as his playing.... lifelong cumbrian 1,826
I like all the guitarists mentioned, depends what type of music you like best. I like the likes of Wilko Johnson and Mick Green, just the type of music style I like best.
