Just looking at CZ452 which model is best all rounder then ?, from what I can see it's the "american" but i've also seen Varmint and style models, all very good prices

Yeah the guys a bit mad but what I wanted to dispel by posting that clip is this myth that semi autos always jam it's simply not true.

 

A semi or a bolt action rifle will fail if not looked after properly.

 

I matters not which rifle you go for I have a Browning A bolt, Tikka T3, a CZ American and the Rugar 10/22 and they are all made to a high quality. I think with rifles it really does come down to what you want to spend as out of the box accuracy is very good which you choose

Started life with the Annie, I love it to bits, wont start talking long range accuracy as will get shot down in flames, however its great on a couple of my permissions where there are limited numbers of rabbits.

 

10 22, great fun off back of truck lamping or as mentioned earlier where there are multiple kills to be had, keep it clean.

 

Out of choice I prefer the Annie for my shooting and get better satisfaction from it.

Get what you want, the whole Bolt/Semi debate is hardly a life changer in the accuracy dept when we are talking field use on the bunny.

 

I too fell somewhat for the Anschutz BOLT or 10/22 Semi question.

 

If you are talking Semi the Anschutz still wins hands down, why do you think everyone who buys a 10-22 throws most of it away and buys third party replacements for virtually everything, some are so tricked up there isn't a 10-22 left. NOBODY does, or needs to do that, with an Anschutz.

 

Bottom line is from my experience of them both, I'd say the CZ Semi is still a better bet, older or new versions, but they are never going to win any prizes on looks!

 

I run a Magtech 7022 Semi as well as my CZ Silhouette. It doesn't come out due to necessity that often, but it has it's uses, my Silhouette gets far more use, but I can't deny the VERY light weight and stopping power of the Magtech does at times promote a big grin factor, as well as using copious quantities of ammo. Trigger is shite but accuracy is FAR better even so, than all the doom mongers would have you think!

OH YES, £150 brand new screw cut, Iron sights and ready to go out of the box! ...and the Magtech 7022 is the identical gun to the Mossberg 702 which retails some £100 more!

Well to be honest guys it all depends on the job at hand and the land you shoot on, i got a brno 22lr semi auto with 3 extra 8 shot mags..abit picky on the ammo at first like most semi auto's but i found it works best with eley subs, nice and light and very short which means i can get in close and not be worried about the sound when taking repeat shots at a few bunnies.

Then i also have a cz 455 thumbhole 17hmr for longer distance shots when when sound is no problem, took 2 yesterday on 2 different fields both sat in the open on there own, the first buck at 115yrds and the second was a young doe at 107yrds right throught the eye...something i wouldnt of accomplished with the brno.
