Tornado1979 145
I've been browsing through .22LR rifles online ready for once my ticket arrives in nr future. I've been out with a friend several times and he swears by the Anshcutz but I've taken a liking to the Ruger 10/22 sporter, be good if any of you could provide me with any further info with either of these rifles pros' / cons which could help me select the best one for me. coldweld 65
Easy answer is Anshcutz is a good rifle from the box ! 10/22 is a bit like a Kit Car Never quite finished and always in need of another part !! 1 Quote Link to post
Rake aboot 4,936
Cons , they are semi autos. By a CZ452 bolt action and never look back. Semis are pish Quote Link to post

Semis are pish I'll have to check them out again, was looking at these but lad I go out with said they are prone for jamming ?!?! saying that he thinks everything is rubbish with the exception of Anshcutz (his baby) haha. Elliott 436
Be careful re the Anschutz, I have heard their semi autos are rubbish - this is coming from the owner of a Annie 1517! The 10/22 is very popular for a reason and also easily customized. Either way it won't be as accurate as a bolt action 1 Quote Link to post

Rake aboot 4,936
Bolt action. all the way 1 Quote Link to post
coldweld 65
You did not say the Anni was also a semi !! Get a bolt action, Semi autos have a noisy loading action, Usually jam just at the moment you need it most, less accurate than a bolt action and encourage the user to waste Ammo. OR ignore this advice buy a semi, sell it at a loss when you find out we where telling you the truth, then buy a bolt action. 2 Quote Link to post
The Seeker 3,048
I've got a 10/22 and it's a great rifle especially for bunnies. The only issue I have had is when the spent round did not eject, this is always due to a build up of wax of the .22 bullets. A quick clean and it's back to working just like new. The reputation of these rifles jamming ALL the time is amusing and usually but not always the opinion of someone who has never owned one (not directed at anyone on this thread). Yes a bolt action will be more accurate but I don't use mine to punch paper targets and I can squeeze off 3 rounds at three seperate bunnies to the bolt actions 1. Going back to them jamming somone forgot to tell this bloke 1 Quote Link to post
alan81 110
at least a bolt action will never be that costly in amo in a minute. cz 452 bolt action all the way. 1 Quote Link to post
ChrisJones 7,975
10/22... I've had mine since 2008. I couldn't praise it highly enough. They're the world's top semi .22LR for a reason. Quote Link to post

Chr15j 59
Cons , they are semi autos. By a CZ452 bolt action and never look back. Semis are pish Agreed semi autos are not too hot but since when are all Annie's semi autos? A ba Annie is superior in build quality to a ba cz (I own the cz) Quote Link to post

MR TEA POT 1,287
The most fun you can have with your clothes on ?? That would cost me a fortune firing rounds off like that? I've got a BRNO .22 cracking rifle cheap as chips but reliable 1 Quote Link to post
