Guest world.hunters
my dogs live inside with my GSD for as already said, more saftey especially with the other dog and the company. but i do believe a kennel dog would be easier to train as they will want to be with you more, im not speeking from experiance though, W.H Quote Link to post
kreet 0
i think a outside dog is easyer to train aswell my jrt and whippet were being a right pain when they were inside now there kenneld as said they are much more trainable , they are kenneld but my bulldog bitch just runs free out the back and sleeps in the concrete shed with the door open even i cant jump up on the fence tryd it once and if i hadnt heard her get up id ov gotn a sore one as she doesnt wait to see who or what it is she just goes crazy next doors cat and her jump up the fence at each other half the day aswell her thinking that one time she's going to catch . skycat 6,173
Most of mine live in and out meaning that they're in and out of the house and yard whilst I'm here in the day but some of the young ones are kenneled at night to stop them charging around all night long! As far as being easier to train if they are kenneled then that might work for some people especially if there are kids messing about with the dogs when your are not there, but IMO the more my dogs are part of the pack and know their place in the scheme of things the more responsive and easy they are. I ought to say that my kennels are only a couple of yards outside the back door and the dogs are still able to be involved in pack and house life so aren't separated really. It's all down to how your dogs perceive you (are you the boss?) and if they know their status it shouldn't make any difference whether they are kenneled or not as to how easy they are to train. Neal 1,857
My situation is similar to Skycats' in that both the dogs are free to go in or out when I'm in and that the kennel with attached run is right by the back door. They do sleep outside though and are usually in the run when we're out. They're both great house dogs but they get more going on outside to interest them if that makes sense. Having said that, before we had the bitch spayed, the male was indoors all the time while the bitch was in season and now, if left to choose, she invariably goes into the kennel when she wants a nap whereas he finds a comfy spot indoors. If we got a third dog then we'd make the male the permanent house dog. Quote Link to post

elma-fudd 0
Mine live inside the cottage, with me. Just like my Lap Top, valuable books, gun and so forth. How many times do ye hear someone bleating that some scum (" Pikeys ", 'obviously', every time ) has stolen their Dogs ....? And how many times do ye hear anyone say, " Some scum broke into my house / Burgled me and nicked my Dogs! " ? Personally? I'm Yet to hear it! I keep my valued posessions in here. Down in the cow shed is where ye'll find the shit I don't so much bother about. yep i keep mine in doors as well plus if anybody broke in when i was there i could watch the dogs rag the scumy c--ts Quote Link to post
