realy eager to get out pike fishing but not to sure about the warm weather a friend of mine told me that they dont last five minuets out of the water im used to fishing for them in the winter so feel like a bit of a div askin

The answer SW is.....don't keep them out of the water mate.Get yourself a Pike tunnel, and peg it out in the shallows, they will have plenty of time to recover then.................Martin.

personally if you are not familiar with pike and their unhooking/handling i suggest you accompany an experienced pike fisherman if you can for at least one day to watch how they go on. The horrors i have seen dished out to this freshwater shark over the years by people with no knowledge of unhooking is disgusting.

remember you will need a long pair of forceps and a John Roberts deep throat unhook tube. I would always use semi-barbless trebles too. Good luck....JD

Hi there mate

As already said unless you know what your doing i wouldnt try it in the summer they may look a fearsome predator but they are very fragile especially in the summer months. If you like we can try to organise a piking session together i may be young but ive seen alot of mistreated pike on the banks and have always offered assitance. Or on the other hand you could tell me to sod of!! :D
