J Darcy 5,871 Posted August 29, 2007 Report Share Posted August 29, 2007 personally if you are not familiar with pike and their unhooking/handling i suggest you accompany an experienced pike fisherman if you can for at least one day to watch how they go on. The horrors i have seen dished out to this freshwater shark over the years by people with no knowledge of unhooking is disgusting. remember you will need a long pair of forceps and a John Roberts deep throat unhook tube. If you like we can try to organise a piking session together i may be young but ive seen alot of mistreated pike on the banks and have always offered assitance.
