RIP.JD 21
Ive bought a plastic transport box for my harris, I just wondered how long people leave their birds in them when traveling.Obviously the shorter the time the better. Plus In severe weather can a bird can come in doors and remain in the box overnight? Cheers Quote Link to post
youcanthide...BANG 1,051
Legally they can only be kept in them whilst transporting as the minimum required living space for any bird is to be able to fully open their wings and turn, the bird shouldn't need to come indoors at all if the aviary is draught and weather protected. Hope that helps Quote Link to post
milo 74
ive brought my birds into the house on the run up to bonfire night and on bonfire night,i have an half open top mews and i just dont want a fallen firework crashing in on them, and the noise is also an issure, but id say the least time in there the better. 1 Quote Link to post
charlie caller 3,654
Agreed, but all I would say is if you need to do it the bird wont suffer being in the carry box overnight, better that than a firework or wto. Quote Link to post
arcticgun 4,548
plenty kept em the odd night in travel boxes, on bonfire night I fetch mine in and put him on the portable block in a quiet room, or he sits in living room with us and picks on the dogs, until its bedtime then off to quiet room in dark, would box him if I needed too, Quote Link to post
CrowHawker 227
I've left one of mine in a box with one little outing at a service station for 11 hours on my trip to Scotland! I think it's more comman scence! Quote Link to post
