emilianoksa 11
This has been discussed on other forums, and I wondered if anyone on here had experienced it. Apparently Weihrauch have taken to using a lot of Loctite on their 97,77and trigger blocks - so much so that they will not unscrew without heat. In one case it took so much heat to loosen the block, that the spring guide had melted by the time it was removed. The gun was purchased from Germany, so I'm wondering if the Hull Cartridge imports are any different. Quote Link to post
slave 33
Yes a member has brought a hw97 with this problem http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/300107-sfs-hw97k/ Quote Link to post
Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
im awaiting delivery of my hw98, probably wont be loctited but I just hope its not. I heard its just the 97/77/80 but who knows they might start doing all their rifles. I just wonder what they hope to achieve by doing this if its for anti-tamper purposes why bother. their guns are getting worse out the box quality is poor these days and aftermarket tuners -that try to make them the rifles they deserve to be- will get pissed off having to heat them up before taking them apart. ian118118 10
Tried opening my hw97k the other day and I already heard it may be glued and it's about 2 and a half weeks old, well the trigger block would not budge at all so I just reassembled it and am shooting it standard for the time being as it's quite nice to shoot for an out the box gun anyway I just fancied a tinker! ian118118 10
Also mine does have the hull cartridge stamp on it Atb Ian Quote Link to post
whistler1 26
My 97 is just under a couple of months old,and the trigger block came of very easily....guy with the loctite must have went for his lunch....thank god.I heard the German boards are full of threads on the subject. So now when you buy a 97,you need a tuning kit and a new end block, for when you remove the bluing on the original, while trying to remove it with heat. Will cost them sales, big time. Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
I wont be buying a new hw after my 98 unless they release a totally new springer and I like the looks of it second hand from now on for me, 1 Quote Link to post
emilianoksa 11
If Weihrauch don't address this problem, I can see a lot more TX200s being sold than HW97s in the future. What on earth possessed them to do something so stupid? Edited September 8, 2013 by emilianoksa Quote Link to post
andy836 4
Probably doing it to stop people getting into the internals and seeing just how poor the quality control has become. 1 Quote Link to post

barrywhite 282
I have read about this gluing the guns together for years . Quote Link to post

Atb Ian Exactly mate...its madness. Secondhand HW springers will be selling a lot quicker now. Quote Link to post
MickC 1,825
Stop buying new guns then they will stop gluing them up,anything that affects sales will get quicker results than anything else. Anti tamper isn't even a legal requirement. Quote Link to post
ian118118 10
Tempted to px it for a prosport! Or a pcp, what sort of price should I sell it for? It has a nikko sterling 4-12x50mm AO IR scope and there is not a single mark on it anywhere. Don't want it if I can't even open it up. Atb Ian Quote Link to post
