JollyPoacher 3
My Beddy X Whippet first Cross is now 7 months old and 16 inches at the shoulder. 2 Questions: A. When will she be fully grown? B. What height will she make? I could run a sweep stake on Question B... Quote Link to post
cúagusgiorraí 57
It is usually around 8 months old that the height is fixed. She wont get much bigger is my guess. She will fill out in the next year, get more muscular and stronger bone structure. I would like to see some fotos! Quote Link to post
JollyPoacher 3
Thanks Pretty happy with the way she is shaping up. The retrieve is going well but she occasionally over runs and drops the dummy. I have been working on a stop whistle - which works really well if she isn't chasing grasshoppers! and she has picked up doing sides from hand signals after throwing a lot of cheese. Will get out with the camera this evening. I haven't taken her out hunting yet but am itching to as she has really started to get her wheels under her now and is like lightning on the marshy ground by the river. Quote Link to post

JollyPoacher 3
Coyote, Thanks for the input. I had been hoping she would get closer to nineteen or twenty inches as the extra height will make such a differece for her field of view, especially in the stubble crops around here. So I tell her all the time to try harder and grow but Im sure she is doing the best she can. No matter as she is with me for good even if she winds up a dwarf. (No insult to dwarfs intended) Quote Link to post
