m.r1 7
I note on the web site the amount of russells I would class look like show type dogs, however, as the saying goes, "never judge a book by its cover". My own experience of seeing this type (never owned) is they are, to the true terrier men, useless. I once had the displeasure, or pleasure, depending onnwhat side of the fence you are, of listening to Mr Chapman talk at a terrier talf night. Never heard so much sh**. Any one there? If so rememeber the story about his terrier Bangor that was better than the Hounds! The reason for raising a new topic is to high light and bring to the attention another yester year dog dealer who has cashed in on the russell and contributed heavily to the demise of this once true working terrier. I look forward to your comments and stories, no piss taking only the truth please Quote Link to post

donnyc 1,203
Like anyone else good and bad come out his kennels. If you want a worker he will sell you one or a show dog whatever.Doesnt hide the fact he doesnt like a mixing terrier although quite a lot of his will mix it .I have a small bitch here from his kennels and to be honest she is too hard at some quarry and pays the price.Where do your terriers originate from? . Your comments clearly show the quality and amount of digging you did on your visit and also during your season. Yes Eddie has done plenty of digging, so has my grand dad on his garden plot and he has never dug deeper than 3 foot! My comments are not related to Eddies yester year "easy hunt" terrier work he carried out in the West country, yes there can be deep digs but these digs were missed because of the numbers game. I agree with Topper, "at the end of the day its everyone to there own" but what pisses me off is the bull you see on the site about honest Eddie, again he may be as honest as a priest, but we are getting away from the issue, NO MORALS IN BREEDING WORKERS, breeds for looks and a silly kennel club name. Thurso Jack, you have shown your immaturity and lack of working terrier knowledge with your silly comments " bet hes still dug more quarry than you and your imaginery friend frank have" DO YOU WEAR A DRESS? Heres a saying for you next time your around the show ring "its the quality of the sett that can measure the quality of the terrier, see even idiots like you I try to help! p.s. Believe it or not! You probably wont but Frank does exist, yes it was me writing under his name, this was done to generate interest and to have a laugh withthe sites idiots. Frank purchased sevearl russells on the run some 10 years ago, he paid £150 each for the 1st 2, fair price 10 years ago to a working dog man! Both were then returned as Eddie had requested and Frank honoured Eddies request as failures and honest Eddie honoured his word and exchanged for another 2, Honest Eddie then bred from the s**t and made more money from young nieve lads who were taken in by several easy 2 foot digs to a yappy little, show type, pedigree named russell (I remebber when I believed bed time stories as well, but I woke up!). This process happened again a couple of times and then Frank decided to shoot the last 2, told Eddie what he thought and Eddie felt let down because the terriers had been shot! MORALS, not interested in the time and travelling miney Frank wasted, by the way Frank only wanted the 2 russells for Hunt work, he needed 2 terriers that qwould not stay to long, shows how good the ones were that was shot! Any more comments? Love it when people pass comments and hear say, talk shit etc, honesty is the best policy, liars always get caught out, were watching, be careful what you say, Got to go I have got to feed my 60 true tried and tested show stoppers Tally Ho! CumbrianJack 2
Give the man a break hes not all that bad. Some americans treat him like a god, i don't but i still have respect for the older generation who have done more and seen more than most of us younger folks. People can breed, sell and do what they like with their dogs, if Eddie has made a decent living off his then thats more down to the twits that bought the story isn't it. Good luck to anyone who can make a living from it and still keep a relatively good name. Eddie gives loads away to the americans or so the americans tell me!LOL i do doubt it though, one in particular thinks she knows eddies dogs better than he does himself and often tells others to watch him he is like a used car salesman, a bit disrespectful really considering he gives her dogs. One thing we all have is choice and if we don't like what we see or hear we don't buy do we. No need to try and drag peoples names through the mud. Quote Link to post
redmoor 0
I've met Eddie and his Russels and i think he's a guy with a hell of a lot of experience, i know of several people who work their Russels from him, equally i know people who show some of his stock..Mr1..you seem to just want to pick an argument on EVERY subject..its pretty waring after a while..clearly there is no one else that knows and works dogs quite like you can..so i to your great status! I was brought up being told that if you dont have anything nice to say...keep your mouth closed..my mother is a wise woman! Edited August 29, 2007 by redmoor Quote Link to post
