Badgers Spoiling My Lamping Trip

walking back up the lanes the week before last, after dark :whistling: i could hear something scurrying straight towards us, in the darkness it looked like one of the local farms collies, so i flicked the lamp on as it got close and it was a badger :laugh: it literally skidded to a halt and turned tail :laugh::laugh:

I don't have a problem with them, but my dogs do a lot of hunting up from a young age and bump into them offen, even in daylight. When they are over 100 yards away from you the first time they see one, you don't really have a lot of say as to how your dog will react in the situation.

Your joking arnt you bird? I've never seen another animal, not even cats that get a reaction out of a dog like brock will. I'm not saying it carnt be done but I'd say its pretty near impossible.

All my dogs have been and are broken to badgers its nothing difficult ............

I can't believe my posts were deleted for pointing out the obvious. Guys claim to have lamped for years yet come on a public site an tell everybody that badgers are ruining there night out lol and there's me thinking gaffer would have sussd out how to deal with this situation by now lol, this thread shows the guys who actually get out in the dark lollol can't stop a dog from pestering Brock lollol I've heard it all now lollol

i take you guys word about badger breaking a dog.i suppose it depends on the dog,as mine goes nuts at the smell of fox,....but goes crazy town on badger scent,cart wheels on the lead.i never tried to break one as dont really see that many about..........if a dog from generations back whos sole trade was brock and fox can he be broke...........i dont think it poss.maybe your collie xs.but bullxs,terrier blooded lurchers....?
