on the news there he was meant to have said that gb is just a small island that nobody listens to any more. has he any credit? in my views it has become a soft nation of protesters and lazy fcukers

If only we had all joined in and helped Hitler it wouldn't matter what Putin thinks cause he would be a train driver or something !!

it seems were a far way off the men even from the 60s never mind the early half of the 20th century. I think we need a military experienced pm to run th country who will stand up to all the nonsense g

Spot the difference ?

February 4th, 2013, Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, addressed the Duma, (Russian Parliament), and gave a speech about the tensions with minorities in Russia:

"In Russia live Russians. Any minority, from anywhere, if it wants to live in Russia, to work and eat in Russia, should speak Russian, and should respect the Russian laws. If they prefer Sharia Law, then we advise them to go to those places where that's the state law. Russia does not need minorities. Minorities need Russia, and we will not grant them special privileges, or try to change our laws to fit their desires, no matter how loud they yell 'discrimination'. We better learn from the suicides of America, England, Holland and France, if we are to survive as a nation. The Russian customs and traditions are not compatible with the lack of culture or the primitive ways of most minorities. When this honorable legislative body thinks of creating new laws, it should have in mind the national interest first, observing that the minorities are not Russians."

The politicians in the Duma gave Putin a five minute standing ovation.

The russians have always been diffrent from the rest of the world,I guess thats what being an oppressed nation does. the people just do as they are told and keep there head down, not a lot has changed in that country.if they complained they were hit that hard they wouldnt complain a second time. Your average ruskie on the street cares very little about politics.as long as a russian has a bottle of vodka and some form of domestic animal to f**k he will quite happily piss and shit his life away, thats about the measure of a russians politics.

putin is a dodgy character, but no more or less than past leaders.its just how russia has and always will function.gangsters at the helm, even stallin was an uneducated paranoid country bumpkin.aye they have had some real headcases lead them thats for sure.

 ffs scot just nearly pissed my self laughing about the vodka and animal to f**k

Your common or garden Russians are all as poor a church mice, that's why they are all over here working and raising their familys......if Russia is so great and we are yesterdays news then they would have stayed at home wouldn't they.

Putins full of shit, he is probably just pissed off because the only one anyone really cares about now are the Chinese

The gap between rich and poor in Russia is mammoth, my pal was over there doing some business and tipped the driver who had been driving them around all week a tenner.........the hosts were horrified and told him he must never do such a thing as its too much money and would spoil the bloke!!!

A container of Bensons was 13p a packet!!!..........lifes cheap as f**k out there, no different to a third world country so I don't know what Putins blowing himself up about

I'm not a fan of Putin but Russia hasn't been involved in a war for the last 11 years either. The Cold War ended. Everyone shook hands and turned their attention elsewhere. Who's to say they haven't spent the time re-arming from the last time? We know war boosts economy and Putin is itching to cement his legacy... How much would we want to poke that bear?

Statistically the number of drunks in Russia is a staggering 89% !

That puts them about 4% behind the THL forum posters. ;)

The russians have and always will be very secretive as far as the inner runnings of there country. its a "form" of democracy they practise over there.

agree with chris, the cold war ended but there not a forgiven bunch is the russians, they got a red face on the world stage when they got there arses handed to them in afghanastan, and they knew exactly where the blame lay for that fiasco lol

aye poke that f*****g bear at your peril right enough. They dont give a f**k how many of there troops fall they will keep coming, public opinion over there does not dictate policy. They just do as there told and happy if they make it through the day.

Nuclear weapons ensure nothing real serious kicks off. The Russian forces are mostly conscripts, they are also aware that conscripts ain't shit when compared with a regular voluntary force. They might try something small, a proxy war if you will as occurred throughout the Cold War years, but no way would they face NATO in toe to toe combat.

A few others have though russia were an easy foe lol

im not saying were gonna get a nuclear war, well no yet.but to say they would be scared of a show down with nato im not so sure.

Nato is a good thing on the whole, but up against russia or china,im pretty sure you would see cracks appear in the alliance.the mentality would be "we better make sure were on the winning side when its all over" lol

mentioned it before, but height of cold war it estimated would could have held them back for 72hours.

put the chinks in the mix and you got one formidable enemy
